    Case Worker Assistant

    Duties and Responsibility

    • Facilitate the assessment of the living conditions of GBV survivor’s communities and participate in the development of appropriate response to the needs of SGBV.
    • Facilitate the involvement of SGBV and the community (leaders and parents) in the PSS activities and document the progress made.
    • Follow-up the preparation and implementation of case action plan.
    • Through working with the child protection committees identify potential foster families for unaccompanied and separated children in collaboration with social workers and community leaders.
    • Organize and facilitate positive parenting skills training (Parenting without Violence Common Approach) weekly sessions.
    • Assist the child rights clubs to demonstrate to the community and the concerning bodies about protection concerns that children are facing while living in the camp and promote the participation of children in all matters affecting their lives.
    • Organize and lead psychosocial support activities at Child friendly Spaces
    • Work closely with the child protection officer in the celebration of international events days and other awareness raising sessions
    • Assist and participate in the preparation of budget, work and spending plans, and PR tracking to monitor the proper utilization of the budget and timely implementation of activities.
    • Adhere and fully abide by the child protection code of conduct.
    • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor
    • With support from the Coordinator, supervise project implementation to ensure timely delivery of project activities (for example, monitoring against individual performance management work plans).
    • Work with the MEAL plan to ensure links to reporting requirements where possible, refer the MEAL framework to build an evidence-base for child protection programming interventions.
    • With support from the CRM/Accountability Officer put in place accountability activities for your project, ensuring that feedback from children and their families is considered in project design.
    • Ensure that the minimum standards of humanitarian relief are maintained in accordance with the Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Settings and the Sphere standard
    • Ensure survivors of gender based violence are timely identified and provided counselling and other appropriate response services.
    • Ensure relevant referral forms are in place, implemented accordingly and coordinate monthly meetings including, parent’s forum and child protection committee
    • Provide essential psychosocial first aid support to children and adults when needed and ensure partner staff are supervised regularly to ensure activities are carried out in line with minimum standard guidelines

    Requirement:

    • Previous experience in carrying out awareness or community-based EORE activities or similar
    • Previous experience in data reporting and/or using participatory techniques to gather information in at-risk communities.
    • Relevant experience in community-based facilitation and community mobilization.
    • Experience of developing good relationships with people and working in a participatory manner with groups of different ages, statuses, and backgrounds
    • Previous experience living and working in a cross-cultural, multi-sector team environment in Northeast Nigeria
    • Experience working with rural communities from a variety of different ethnic groups.
    • A demonstrated ability to multi task and process information into action in a timely manner
    • Language Proficiency: Fluent in English and either Kanuri or Hausa.
    • Interpersonal Abilities: Strong interpersonal skills, capable of building effective relationships and maintaining effective communication with diverse community groups and stakeholders.
    • Presentation Skills: Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to engage and captivate an audience.
    • IT Skills: in regards to the report writing
    • Organizational Competence: Outstanding organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.

    Performance measures:

    • The Case Management Assistant will provide psychosocial support, basic case management support to survivors of gender-based violence through individual counselling follow-up support, referrals, and dissemination of information on available GBV services to encourage access to services.
    • She/he will in collaboration with the GBV officer oversee provision of   psychosocial /group support, skills building, information sessions and other recreational activities that promotes social support networks and cohesion with boys, men women and girls at the Child Friendly Spaces/safe spaces.
    • He/she will be expected to support on child protection sectoral assessment, project planning and coordination with other actors. In most circumstances, the post holder will be expected to mentor and/or build capacity of implementing partners on the field

    GBV Project Assistant

    Requirement and duties

    • At least 2 years’ experience in protection work supervisory responsibilities over national staff, program development, planning and implementation.
    • Must have in-depth technical expertise on Protection, Women and Girls’ safe spaces programming and Gender Based Violence related issues including having a clear understanding of gender inequality, and issues surrounding discrimination and violence against women and girls
    • Must have experience with operationalizing GBV principles.
    • Proficient in community mobilization, challenging social norms/relations and Behavior Change Communication.
    • Proven record of providing trainings and workshops on gender and GBV, SRH, topics in a variety of settings.
    • Excellent Analytical, Communication and Report writing skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to establish effective working relations with local staff, beneficiaries, duty bearers and other stakeholders
    • Disciplined, organized, respect for deadlines, adaptation in a multicultural working environment.

    • S/he will work with a team of GBV community volunteers, GBV case worker and PSS staff.

    GBV Officer

    Duties and Responsibility

    Case Management

    • Provide professional and confidential services to survivors of GBV, grounded in the IASC’s holistic, survivor-centered case management approach.
    • Document client information through accurate filling of intake and consent forms and ensure confidential and safe storage
    • Support the maintenance of the organization’s case management system by maintaining client confidentiality
    • Ethically and confidentially collect and store GBV data. Participate in interpretation of the analyze data on trends and work with the GBV Psychosocial officer to disseminate information to all relevant stakeholders.
    • Participate in the development of case management monitoring systems and help to ensure that GBV community workers utilize these systems correctly and consistently.
    • Participate in preparation of all relevant reports regarding the Organization’s psychosocial activities.
    • Development of referral networks between partners implementing GBV and implementation of referral pathways.

    Training, Mentorship & Coaching

    • Supervise and provide training, mentorship, and other technical support to community workers directly involved with the psychosocial component of the Organization’s GBV Program.
    • Provide leadership and guidance regarding psychosocial activities to all community workers to ensure all Program activities meet best practice standards.
    • Monitor and supervise case management, including capacity building through training and on-the-job training of community workers. Training topics should include active listening and effective communication, action and safety planning, GBV guiding principles, GBV basic concepts, and other related topics

    Coordination & Networking

    • Strengthen and maintain networks through other service providers and camp management to ensure survivors receive compassionate community support and encourage greater communication, collaboration and coordination among partners (protection, health, legal, and psychosocial sectors). 
    • Participate in capacity-building training for the local partners around psychosocial support
    • Strengthen and maintain networks with community leaders, women leaders, service providers and camp management to ensure that survivors receive compassionate support from the community and to encourage greater communication, collaboration and coordination among partners (protection, health, legal, and psychosocial sectors)
    • Monitor monthly community outreach plan with community workers, based on case trends and ongoing needs of women and girls.

    Partnership Development

    • Participate in review meetings and psychosocial capacity assessment of the local partners
    • Organize and conduct trainings for partners on relevant organizational development areas and support peer learning between Organization and other local partner.
    • Development of referral networks between partners implementing GBV and implementation of referral pathways
    • Oversee all interactions and provide Case management support to the local partner with the support of the Program Manager.
    • Ensure the local partner is invited to the case conferences and other inter-agency coordination meeting at camp the level.
    • Assist the Program Manager on technical review of partner’s reports on psychosocial component
    • Assist the Program Manager in planning and organizing for review workshops with partners on the partnership, Organization partnership approach and principles.
    • Support trainings for partners on relevant organizational development areas peer learning between Organization and the local partner.
