    Data Administrator – Outlet and Household Surveys

    Purpose of Assignment

    • Data administrator will be responsible for database management, review of the backend submissions of the survey data collection, monitor the mobile Kobo Collect data submission for accuracy, errors and consistency across all data collection locations.
    • Identify and rectify database problems quickly and efficiently.
    • Streamline field data collection and data documentation processes through routine automated reporting, timestamp and geotagged form submission for easy verification of field activities.
    • Data administrator will be responsible for data integrity, data validation and data security during the Outlet and Household data collection period.
    • Maintain and modifies database, participates in data-mapping and conversion of data; extracts and presents data as requested.
    • Provide support to field data enumerators and data supervisors on data collection.
    • Review and update survey information on kobo collect database.
    • Ensure compliance with research methodology in data collection.
    • Ensure quality and effective data management processes.
    • Work in coordination with the Research Specialist and the MC Information Technology team to ensure survey database accurately captures and addresses the research objectives for easy tracking and reporting to donor and national stakeholders.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Candidates must have a Masters’ Degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science or any data analytics related field with at least 5 years’ experience in database administration and management.
    • Strong data management skills, proactive with ability to think fast and address issues.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Experience in data administration and quantitative report writing
    • Knowledge of malaria data management
    • Knowledge of data analysis especially quantitative data analysis and interpretation
    • Professional certification in the GIS or related field is an added advantage.
    • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and MS Office), Microsoft SQL server and statistical packages.
    • Good understanding and compliance with research ethics and data management.

    Senior Supervisor – Outlet and Household Surveys

    Purpose of Assignment

    • The senior supervisors will guide, monitor and supervise other supervisors during data collection activities.
    • The senor supervisor will ensure compliance of the state level supervisors to all malaria consortium guidelines.
    • The senior supervisor will ensure the state supervisors comply with responsible conduct of research, comply with the PSMA research methodology and submit accurate state level reports in a timely manner.

    Scope of Work

    • Participate in capacity building activity of supervisors.
    • Participate in pretesting (Pilot testing of tools), discussion of data collection tools, role plays, and field simulation exercises).
    • Provide timely support, mentorship and act as first line of contact for state level supervisors on the PSMA project.
    • Provide support in addressing any challenge relating to data supervision at the state levels and escalate challenges to MC research specialist as deemed appropriate.
    • The senior supervisor will oversee 6 state supervisors during the outlet survey and 4 state supervisors during the household survey on the PSMA survey.
    • Collate the reports of the 6 states level supervisors for submission to the research specialist after ensuring their quality and accuracy.
    • Provide weekly and end of data collection report highlighting the state specific community entry uniqueness or outliers, data collection process, key challenges, lessons learn and recommendations to MC research Specialist.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Candidates must have a Master’s Degree in Statistics, Public Health or any Medical related field with at least 5 years experience.
    • Strong evidence of prior participation in similar public health research, field activities and data collection activities.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft office package with good report writing skills.
    • Residency within the project implementation state and availability for the duration of the PSMA survey exercise.
    • Ability to clearly synthesize and present findings, draw practical conclusions, make recommendations and to prepare well-written reports in a timely manner
    • Experience in leading evaluations, surveys, and analysis is highly desirable.
    • Demonstrated report writing skills for quantitative survey
    • Candidate must not be a current employee of any government ministry or agency as at the time of recruitment.
    • Familiarity with the use of android devices for data collection.
    • Working knowledge of the local language of the state, residency within the state and proficiency in spoken and written English Language.
    • Excellent time management, organizational and report writing skills.

    Data Enumerators – Household Survey

    Job Description

    • Activity: ACT Market Survey on the Private Sector Market Analysis (PSMA)
    • Duration: September – October 2024

    Purpose of Assignment

    • Engage data enumerators that will conduct household data collection using quantitative data collection tools (Questionnaires and Observational Checklists) across 4 states on the PSMA project.
    • Conduct and submit a minimum of 3 electronic responses per person daily for 12 days of the survey
    • The data enumerators will elicit information from households in their selected state of resident.

    Scope of Work:

    • Attend 3-4 days training sessions on responsible conduct of research and Malaria Consortium Safeguarding
    • Participate in pretesting of tools prior to field data collection.
    • Selected data enumerators will conduct listing of households
    • Data enumerators will obtain informed consent from eligible respondents in the states.
    • Identify eligible respondents and participate in the quantitative data collection (Household survey) using Kobo collect platform (already scripted into an android device).
    • Review of data for accuracy and completeness before uploading on the Kobo collect database.
    • Submission of signed timesheets.

    Qualifications

    • Candidates must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree / Higher National Diploma with a minimum of 1 year of experience.
    • Experience of participation as a data enumerator in similar public health research
    • Experience in the use of android devices in data collection (Kobocollect and SurveyCTO).
    • Working knowledge of the local language of the implementation state (Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo etc)
    • Residency within the state and proficiency in spoken and written English Language
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills are required.

    LQAS Data Collector

    Purpose of the Assignment

    • The purpose of this ToR is to engage highly experience research personnel that will carry out quantitative data collection for EoC evaluation based on LQAS approach.
    • The Data Consultants must adhere to the LQAS methodology and administered the structure data collection tools as expected.

    Scope of Work

    • The LQAS survey will be conducted in 25 LGAs of Niger State supported by PF-VAS in collaboration with GF-SMC.
    • The process will involve identification, selection and training of Data Collectors in Niger State.
    • Expected Output / Deliverables
    • Attend training on data collection and survey methods conducted by Malaria Consortium M&E team.
    • Conduct interviews in selected households using Survey-CTO/Kobo collect.
    • Upload data on the Survey-CTO/Kobo collect platform to server.
    • Dataset of completed interviews and report submitted.
    • Signed timesheet

    Qualifications and Experience

    • A minimum of Degree (BSc/HND) in Social Sciences, Health related or quantitative discipline.
    • Experience in conducting public health research, particularly data collection.
    • Knowledge of sampling techniques in conducting quantitative survey
    • Maintain clear and effective communication with caregivers during the interviews
    • Provide regular updates on the progress of data collection
    • Experience in the use of modern technology in research – use of phone for data collection.
    • Ensure confidentiality and privacy of respondents’ information
    • Previous experience doing LQAS survey is an added advantage.
    • Ability to speak local languages (Hausa, Nupe, Gbagyi).
    • A resident of Niger State
    • Familiarity with and respect for the tradition and culture of the locality.
    • Familiarity with terrain of the locality.
    • Ability to pay attention to details.
    • Must not be a current government staff at any level.
    • Must not be part of SMC implementation in any of the following capacity (national, state, LGA, HFW, CHW, FA, TA or LM).
    • Must not be blacklisted during the previous LQAS activities.

    Data Supervisor – Outlet Survey

    Purpose of Assignment

    • The selected supervisors will guide, monitor and supervise the data enumerators throughout the PSMA data collection process. The data supervisor will ensure compliance of the data enumerators to all guidelines emphasized during the outlet survey training exercise by the data enumerators.
    • Briefly, the supervisors will ensure data enumerators understand and comply with responsible conduct of research, comply with the PSMA research methodology, adhere to Malaria Consortium safeguarding policy, communicate with study participants in socially and culturally acceptable ways, respect participants right and freedom to either give an informed consent (Agree to participate) or provide informed dissent (Decline participation) as appropriate in the study.
    • Supervisor will also ensure data enumerators use appropriate tools, submit accurate data and use the Kobocollect electronic data collection platform throughout the study.

    Responsibilities

    • Participate in capacity building activity of supervisors and data enumerators.
    • Participate in pretesting (Pilot testing of tools), discussion of data collection tools, role plays, and field simulation exercises).
    • Lead in community entry, survey participant mobilization, introduction of data enumerators to PPMV/Pharmacy outlets and serve as first point of contact to address immediate challenges or provide oversite at the grassroot level and escalate challenges to MC as deemed appropriate.
    • Every state supervisor will oversee 3- 4 data enumerators for each study arm of the PSMA survey.
    • Supervise data enumerators to ensure collection of quality and accurate data.
    • Provide a weekly and end of data collection report highlighting the community entry, data collection process, key challenges, lessons learn and recommendations to MC.

    Qualifications and experience

    • Candidates must have a Master’s Degree in Statistics, Public Health or any medical related field with at least 3 years’ experience.
    • Strong evidence of prior participation in similar public health research, field activities and data collection activities.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft office package with good report writing skills.
    • Residency within the project implementation state and availability for the duration of the PSMA survey exercise.
