    Program Officer

    Job Overview:

    The Program Officer will be responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of various programs aimed at advancing the mission of the organisation. This role involves coordinating activities, managing resources, monitoring and evaluating program outcomes, and ensuring effective communication among stakeholders. The Program Officer will work closely with community members, partner organizations, and internal teams to ensure the successful execution and impact of the NGO's initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Program Planning and Implementation:

      • Develop and implement program strategies, work plans, and timelines in alignment with the NGO's mission and objectives.
      • Coordinate and oversee program activities to ensure they meet established goals and deadlines.
      • Manage program budgets and resources, ensuring cost-effective use of funds.
    • Stakeholder Engagement:

      • Build and maintain relationships with community members, partner organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
      • Facilitate communication and collaboration among stakeholders to enhance program effectiveness and impact.
    • Monitoring and Evaluation:

      • Monitor program progress and performance against established goals and objectives.
      • Collect and analyze data to assess program outcomes and impact.
      • Prepare and present regular reports on program performance to management and stakeholders.
    • Capacity Building:

      • Organize and conduct training sessions, workshops, and capacity-building activities for program beneficiaries and stakeholders.
      • Provide technical assistance and support to partners and community members to strengthen program implementation.
    • Advocacy and Policy Engagement:

      • Advocate for policies and practices that support the NGO's mission and programs.
      • Engage with policymakers, government officials, and other key stakeholders to influence policy changes and secure support for programs.
    • Documentation and Reporting:

      • Maintain accurate records of program activities, expenditures, and outcomes.
      • Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Health, or a related discipline). A Master’s degree is preferred.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in program management, preferably in the NGO sector.
    • Strong project management skills, with experience in planning, implementing, and monitoring programs.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
    • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail.
    • Commitment to the NGO’s mission and values.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience in gender-based violence prevention, community development, or related areas.
    • Knowledge of local languages and cultural context.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and program management software.

    Account Officer

    Job Overview

    The Accountant is responsible for managing the financial activities of the NGO, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations and standards. This role involves maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements, overseeing budgeting processes, and ensuring efficient financial management and reporting. The Accountant will work closely with program and administrative staff to support the financial health and sustainability of the organization.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Financial Management:

      • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
      • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
      • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulations.
    • Budgeting and Forecasting:

      • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets and forecasts.
      • Track and report on budget variances, providing insights and recommendations for corrective actions.
      • Support program staff in budget preparation and financial planning.
    • Grant Management:

      • Monitor and manage financial aspects of grants and donor-funded projects.
      • Prepare financial reports for donors, ensuring accuracy and compliance with donor requirements.
      • Ensure timely and accurate grant reporting and documentation.
    • Auditing and Compliance:

      • Coordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate provision of financial information.
      • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, standards, and best practices.
      • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard the organization's assets.
    • Payroll and Taxation:

      • Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
      • Prepare and submit tax filings and other statutory financial reports.
      • Ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations and other employment-related financial obligations.
    • Financial Reporting:

      • Prepare and present regular financial reports to management, the board of directors, and other stakeholders.
      • Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making processes.
      • Maintain transparent and effective communication regarding the organization's financial status.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the NGO sector.
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and best practices.
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
    • Commitment to the NGO’s mission and values.

    Preferred Skills

    • Experience in managing grants and donor-funded projects.
    • Knowledge of local accounting and tax regulations.
    • Experience in financial management within a multi-donor environment.
    • Familiarity with financial management software and systems used in the NGO sector.
