    Communication Officer

    DUTIES:

    • Support in the conceptualization and implementation of all Activity’s communication strategies.
    • Contribute to the collation, writing and editing of the weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual progress reports.
    • Develop communication materials, including pictures, videos, publications, infographics, short documentaries, promotional materials, etc.
    • Accompany Activity program staff to the field to capture all relevant media (pictures, videos, short documentaries, success stories, etc.)
    • Assist in the graphic design, writing, and editing of engaging, agriculturally tailored, data-driven articles for the monthly newsletter.
    • Brainstorm and research ideas for original and consistent content that can drive traffic to the Activity’s social media platforms.
    • Draft, schedule and post approved audio-visuals on the Activity’s social media platforms.
    • Perform any other job-related task as may be assigned by the supervisor.

    QUALIFICATION:

    • BSc/HND in English, Mass Communication, Journalism or any other related field with a minimum of four (4) years’ experience performing a similar or related role in a well-structured organization.

    COMPETENCIES:

    • The ideal candidate must:
    • Have experience in research and report writing.
    • Have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a collaborative multicultural environment.
    • Have good ability to co-ordinate, prioritize and organize workloads.
    • Have ability to take initiatives and work under pressure.
    • Have ability to travel extensively in rural communities of Adama, Borno,
    • Gombe and Yobe States.

    Driver II (Damaturu)

    DUTIES:

    • Drive Activity vehicles in a safe and courteous manner and support field operations.
    • Perform necessary cleaning and washing of the assigned vehicles as needed.
    • Maintain Activity vehicles and provide timely advice to the Administrative
    • Officer of any assigned vehicle requiring maintenance services in line with
    • IITA Vehicle Usage and Maintenance Policy.
    • Act as Field Assistant in collecting data when traveling with Project experts and other team members for field, training or meeting activities.
    • Perform any other job-related task as may be assigned by the supervisor.

    QUALIFICATION:

    • O’level with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience performing similar role in a well-structured environment with a valid driver’s license.

    COMPETENCIES:

    The ideal candidate must:

    • Have good communication skill (writing, reading and speaking).
    • Have ability to work with minimum supervision and good driving skills.
