    About the Social Media Manager Role

    As the Social Media and Community Manager for our retail products, your primary focus is to engage, grow and delight our community and audience through social media marketing strategy and implementation. Simplified - we simply want you to create fun, engaging, exciting content that will be disseminated to our different audiences digitally. All content must take a creative spin on storytelling and be in line with the overall brand messaging and guidelines.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Set and implement social media and communication campaigns to align with marketing strategies
    • Provide engaging text, image and video content for social media accounts
    • Respond to comments and customer queries in a timely manner
    • Monitor and report on feedback and online reviews
    • Organize and participate in events to build community and boost brand awareness
    • Coordinate with Marketing, PR and Communications teams to ensure brand consistency
    • Liaise with Development and Sales departments to stay updated on new products and features
    • Build relationships with customers, potential customers, industry professionals and journalists
    • Stay up-to-date with digital technology trends

    You’ll be a great fit if you have the following skills:

    • Hands-on experience with social media management for brands

    • Knowledge of online marketing and marketing channels

    Back End Engineer

    About the Back End Engineer Role

    We are looking for a driven, passionate, and committed individual to join the team as we grow and expand across Africa and beyond. As a Backend Engineer (NodeJS), your primary responsibility will be to implement, maintain, and where applicable, support product features (and or enhancements)

    What Your Day to Day Activities Will Be 

    • Implementation, testing, delivery, and maintenance of product features (new and existing)
    • Creating technical reports on feature implementations 
    • Research on existing/new product features and areas of improvement 
    • Commitment to creating and maintaining secure coding practices (and standards)
    • Providing support for product features (when needed) 
    • Perform any other duties that may be assigned

    Required competency and skillset to be a Waver

    • Proven work experience in Software Engineering
    • Good knowledge of Javascript for the backend (NodeJS) [Typescript is a plus] 
    • Proficient understanding of Git
    • Good, working, knowledge of the SQL query language (MySQL flavor). [Knowledge and understanding of ORMs is a plus]
    • Good, working, knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB especially). [Knowledge and understanding of ODMs is a plus]

    Copywriter and Content Creator

    About the Copywriter and Content Creator Role

    As the Copywriter, your primary focus is to create and write copy that is engaging, exciting, incites action or provokes a positive emotion in our audience as it relates to the Flutterwave brand or any of our products. We’re looking for a creative thinker with excellent writing and research skills to help us elevate that work as our full-time, in-house copywriter. 

    As a member of the Brand and Storytelling team, you will write and edit copy for a variety of projects (including print, web, mobile, video, and social media), working closely with the rest of the marketing and design teams to brainstorm ideas, create concepts, and develop messaging. Thorough research and interviews will be sometimes required to understand our target audience, products/services, branding, and marketing goals. The most successful copywriter will be a quick learner with a versatile writing style.

    All content must take a creative spin on storytelling and be in line with the overall brand messaging and guidelines.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Interpret creative briefs to develop and produce creative concepts through execution on assigned brands
    • Research and understand the brand or product’s needs and target audiences, through online searches, reviews of existing research, interviews with subject matter experts, and in-person meetings
    • Write original copy and edit content for a range of corporate marketing and communications materials
    • Collaborate with the broader marketing and design teams from concept development to delivery of final product
    • Revise copy based on internal and client feedback/direction

    You’ll be a great fit if you have the following skills:

    • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, english, communications, or related discipline
    • Minimum 1 - 2 years professional copywriting experience with solid portfolio of work
    • Exceptional writing and research skill
    • Ability to work independently and with a team to meet deadlines
    • Excellent organizational skill and multitasking ability
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Pro
