    Finance Controller

    Job Description

    • The Finance Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities within CIG Motors. This role involves ensuring the accuracy of financial records, compliance with regulatory standards, and providing strategic financial insights to support the company's growth and profitability objectives.

    Responsibilities
    Financial Management:

    • Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local regulatory requirements.
    • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes.
    • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information to the Group CFO and senior management.

    Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to establish financial targets.
    • Develop and maintain financial forecasts and models to support business planning and decision-making.
    • Monitor performance against budgets and provide variance analysis with actionable insights.

    Internal Controls and Compliance:

    • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
    • Ensure adherence to tax regulations and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors as necessary.

    Cash Flow Management:

    • Oversee cash flow planning and management to ensure the company’s financial stability.
    • Optimize the company’s capital structure and financing strategies.

    Cost Management:

    • Identify and implement cost control initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
    • Conduct regular reviews of expenditures and recommend cost-saving opportunities.
    • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
    • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of the team.

    Strategic Financial Planning:

    • Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to support business growth and profitability.
    • Participate in strategic planning initiatives and contribute to the formulation of business strategies.

    Stakeholder Management:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including banks, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
    • Act as a financial advisor to the senior management team.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field; a master’s degree or professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA) is preferred.
    • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 5-7 years in a senior management position.
    • Strong knowledge of IFRS and local financial regulations.
    • Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
    • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
    • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (experience with Sage 300 or SAP preferred).
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    Head of Finance Operations

    Position Overview

    • The Head of Finance Operation will oversee the financial operations of CIG Motors Company Limited, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes.
    • This role involves managing day-to-day financial activities, implementing financial policies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
    • The Head of Finance Operation will work closely with other departments to support financial planning, reporting, and decision-making.

    Key Responsibilities
    Financial Management:

    • Oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
    • Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions and reconciliations.
    • Manage cash flow and ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs.

    Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
    • Conduct financial analysis and provide reports to senior management.
    • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and reporting.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degrees in Accounting or Finance, or a related field.
    • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA).
    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in finance operations or a related role.
    • Strong knowledge of IFRS and Nigerian financial regulations.
    • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., Sage 300, SAP).
    • Advanced Excel skills and ability to analyze complex financial data.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
