    Communication and Knowledge Manager

    Description

    • Develop, coordinate, and implement a detailed communication and knowledge exchange plan for the Activity in close collaboration with the Activity’s experts, partners, and the Chief of Party.
    • Establish and maintain approaches to ensure the sustainable, timely, transparent, and interconnected two-way exchange of knowledge across the Activity.
    • Manage and ensure effective stakeholder relationships and knowledge exchange approaches by engaging in dialog and using feedback mechanisms with Activity partners, ADP, and beneficiaries.
    • Manage Activity events (including press conferences, fairs, promotional events, and exhibitions) and produce accurate and timely reports of events (including media releases), success stories, and newsletters/bulletins.
    • Set up, design, and coordinate an online media platform on Activity’s results in close collaboration with a social media expert.
    • Support web-based tools and social media for widespread communication of knowledge generated.
    • Produce efficient communication materials (print and audio including educational video documentation) adapted to the needs of farmers for communication of key Activity outputs and learnings.
    • Advise on and produce training and educational materials for the manufacture and use of the best-practice production technologies, seed systems approach, business cluster formation, and integrated value chain development for extension services and rural populations.
    • Manage in close collaboration with the Chief of Party and the donor the PR aspect of a possible crisis situation and advise on possible crisis communication strategies.
    • Participate and contribute to the reporting, evaluation, and planning processes and elaboration of Activity.
    • Work with other staff of the Activity to ensure that the objectives of the Activity are achieved.
    • Perform any other job-related duties as may be assigned by the Head of the Unit.

    QUALIFICATION:

    Master’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, English Language, Linguistics, Public Relations or other related field with a minimum of seven (7) years’ experience performing similar role in an international organization or a donor funded project.

    COMPETENCIES:

    The ideal candidate must:

    • Be proficient in the use of computers (with good grasp and knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing, power point presentation and other MS office applications), database management software, internet-based tools and other electronic communication tools.
    • Have a good understanding and knowledge of online social media tools (such as Web 2.0 platforms, blog sites etc.) and writing for the Web.
    • Be proficient in English language with excellent oral, writing, communication, and presentation skills.
    • Have excellent interpersonal skills, be a team worker and facilitator, communication and networking skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented multicultural environment.
    • Demonstrate ability to plan and co-ordinate, and monitor own work plans, prioritize and organize workloads; take initiatives and work under pressure.
    • Have an excellent understanding of agriculture, poverty, youth empowerment, gender and sustainability issues in rural development of Nigeria, especially in the Northeast region.
    • Have ability to integrate in an existing complex programme set-up.
    • Have ability to deliver accurate and timely reports of events, success stories and newsletters/bulletins.
    • Be able to work with minimum supervision and with tight deadlines.

    Project Administration Support Officer

    Description

    • Assist in the aspect of daily scouting/desk review of donor websites to identify calls/funding opportunities.

    • Assist in processing of administrative supporting documents (e.g. Support letter, Letter of Intent etc.) to be submitted with Proposals/CNs/Expression of Interest.
    • Assist in facilitating completion of proposal summary form (as may be necessary).
    • Ensure all project closure process and related activities are properly implemented.
    • Proactively review agreements to monitor compliance to established systems and procedures related to project close-out requirements.
    • Develop and manage a tracking system for monitoring and follow-up on administrative closure of projects.
    • Work closely with Project Managers and Finance Directorate's Assets Officer to facilitate the reconciliation of the project's close-out inventory list.
    • Follow-up with Project Managers and teams to ensure timely completion of project close-out checklist and ensure all relevant documents are submitted.
    • Follow-up with donors to facilitate receipt of formal letter that acknowledges/certifies the satisfactory completion of projects.
    • Circulate e-mail signifying the formal administrative closure of projects to relevant internal stakeholders.
    • Work with other colleagues to ensure seamless flow of project closure related information and in achieving the unit’s set goals.
    • Liaise with relevant units/teams to ensure projects are administratively closed properly.
    • Actively support the Head of the Unit to ensure continuous improvement in project closeout processes.
    • Assist and ensure that all close-out related documentations are promptly uploaded on ProMIS database;
    • Perform any other job-related duties as may be assigned by the Head of the Unit.

    QUALIFICATION:

    BSc/HND in Agricultural or Science related field with a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in an agricultural and multi-cultural organization with familiarity with related concepts.

    COMPETENCIES:

    The ideal candidate must:

    • Have proven experience in handling administrative functions which involves regular communication/correspondence with stakeholders (internal and external).
    • Have excellent Communication in English language.
    • Have proficient skills with MS Office Suite (including MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-Outlook) and computer applications.
    • Have good understanding of agricultural-related terminologies and concepts;
    • Have excellent client services orientation and ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently.
    • Have strong people/stakeholder management skills.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
    • Have good problem-solving and analytical skills required.
    • Be able to multi-task and have ability to meet quality standards within deadlines;
    • Flexibility to manage uncertainty and adjust to a changing work program

    Senior Nursing Officer

    Description

    • Checking of vital signs, e.g. Temperature, Pulse Respiration and blood pressure; etc)
    • Perform wound dressing on routine and emergency basis.
    • Facilitate health education to all categories of staff.
    • Conduct eye lavage, ear syringing and giving of injections.
    • Setting up of intravenous infusion as the need arises.
    • Conduct immunization of mothers and babies.
    • Conduct simple eye testing using Snellen’s chart.
    • Provide clinical consultations for simple clinical cases whenever the need arises (especially after normal hours).
    • Register patients’ attendance every day.
    • Assist in the management of very ill patients.
    • Assist in updating of yellow cards to those who are travelling outside the country.
    • Assist in the collection of vaccines from State regulatory authorities.
    • Carry out cleaning, autoclave and storage of instruments used in nursing care.
    • Replenish the clinic emergency box and resuscitation trolley as need arises.
    • Carry out costing and billing for drugs and other services.
    • Perform any other duties as may be necessitated by the absence of any other member of the health team.

    QUALIFICATION:

    BSc in Nursing and Registered Midwife Certificate with any two (2) of the following:

    • Diploma in Public/Occupational Health Nursing.
    • Family Planning Certificate.
    • Accident & Emergency Nursing Diploma.
    • Post Basic Nursing Certificate in Theatre Techniques.
    • Post Basic Nursing Certificate in Pediatric Nursing.
    • Diploma in Health Education.

    Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience in at least three of the following areas:

    • Accident and emergency unit.
    • Outpatient department and medical wards.
    • Family Planning Unit/Family Health Unit.
    • Maternal & Child Health Unit.

    COMPETENCIES:

    The ideal candidate must:

    • Possess good organizational skills and demonstrate the ability to work under pressure
    • Be able to carry out basic laboratory procedures such as rapid malaria test, urinalysis, and blood sugar using a glucometer.
