    Accountant

    Job Brief

    • We are looking for an Accountant to manage all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets.

    Responsibilities

    • Specific project accounting and reporting.
    • Monitor the book of account, financial reporting, and financial compliance of the company.
    • Preparation of bank reconciliation statement.
    • Maintenance of fixed assets register and safeguarding all assets.
    • Update schedules for all payables.
    • Transactions handling, posting on SAGE evolution, GL reconciliations, Vendor account reconciliation and customer account reconciliation.
    • Preparation and monitoring of Annual Finance Budget.
    • Undertake any other tasks as may be assigned from time to time.

    Requirements

    • Candidates should possess a B.Sc. Degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance.
    • 10 years post-NYSC relevant working experience.
    • Member of ICAN or ACCA is compulsory
    • Strong ability to multi-task.
    • Very high proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.
    • Proficiency in SAGE
    • Evolution accounting package is an advantage
    • Well-developed numeric skills.
    • Good personal and interpersonal skills covering communication; teamwork; self-motivation; demonstrable initiative and attention to detail.
    • An ability to prioritize, plan and organize work in a busy environment.
    • Willingness to work flexibly in response to changing organizational requirement.

    Job Brief

    • We are looking for an Editor, with a good sense of what makes an interesting angle to a story, You will plan, coordinate, review and edit content.
    • The successful candidate will be able to decide which ideas should be pursued and which should get dropped in order to meet quality and accuracy standards. The goal is to provide exceptional, informative and engaging content.

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinate online or print publishing cycle and manage content areas
    • Set publication standards and establish goals and expectations
    • Suggest stories and generate headline ideas in alignment with targeted audience’s preferences
    • Oversee layout and check content for accuracy and errors
    • Proofread, edit and improve stories or pieces
    • Manage writers and reporters

    Requirements

    • B.Sc / M.Sc in Journalism
    • 6 - 10 years proven work experience in similar role
    • Strong writing and proofreading skills
    • Experience with content management systems
    • Ability to meet the necessary budget
    • Great attention to detail
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Ability to give constructive feedback
    • Conceptual creative abilities
    • Ability to create stories.
