    Music Teacher

    Job Overview

    • We are looking for a passionate and qualified Music Teacher to inspire students across different age groups through engaging and innovative music education.
    • The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in various musical genres, as well as the ability to teach a range of instruments. This role requires developing and delivering a comprehensive music curriculum, creating a positive learning environment, and nurturing students’ musical growth.

    Responsibilities
    Curriculum Development:

    • Design and implement a comprehensive music curriculum in line with educational standards.
    • Develop lesson plans that cover key areas such as music theory, history, composition, and performance.

    Instruction and Delivery:

    • Teach engaging music lessons to students of various ages and skill levels.
    • Provide both individual and group instruction in musical instruments, voice, and music theory.

    Performance Coaching:

    • Prepare students for recitals, performances, and competitions.
    • Offer feedback and guidance to help students refine their musical talents.

    Classroom Management:

    • Foster a positive, inclusive, and creative learning environment.
    • Manage classroom behavior effectively and ensure adherence to school policies.

    Assessment and Evaluation:

    • Administer assessments to track students’ musical progress.
    • Provide constructive feedback and communicate progress to parents.

    Professional Development:

    • Stay updated on the latest trends in music education.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously improve teaching methods.

    Collaboration:

    • Work closely with fellow educators, administrators, and parents to support students’ overall growth.
    • Participate in school meetings, events, and committees as required.

    Qualifications

    • A Degree in Music or a related field from a reputable university (locally or internationally); a postgraduate degree or teaching qualification (PGDE or equivalent) is a plus.
    • Registration with the Teacher Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) or an equivalent certification.
    • At least 5 years of relevant teaching experience.
    • Experience teaching music in a school environment.
    • Familiarity with the British National Curriculum for Music.
    • Proficiency in playing and teaching three or more musical instruments.
    • Strong knowledge of music theory, history, and diverse musical genres.
    • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

    Special Needs (SEN) Teacher

    Responsibilities

    • Work with students with diverse special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, learning disabilities (e.g., dyslexia, dyscalculia), emotional and behavioral difficulties, sensory processing disorders, speech and language difficulties, and visual or hearing impairments.
    • Develop and implement personalized learning plans that address the unique needs of each student.
    • Adapt and modify curricula to suit individual learning styles and abilities.
    • Use assistive technologies and resources to enhance the learning experience.
    • Provide differentiated instruction and assessments to meet students' varying needs.
    • Collaborate with parents, professionals, and multidisciplinary teams to support students' educational and emotional development.
    • Manage challenging behaviors and foster a positive and supportive classroom environment.
    • Maintain accurate records of students' progress and provide regular feedback to parents and school administration.

    Qualifications

    • A degree in Special Education or a related field.
    • At least 3 years of experience working as a SEN teacher or in a similar role.
    • Deep knowledge of various disabilities and conditions, with the ability to differentiate instruction and manage diverse learning needs.
    • Experience using assistive technologies to support student learning.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, and colleagues.
    • Patience, empathy, and creativity in managing challenging behaviors and emotional needs.
    • A commitment to continuous professional development and staying current on trends in special education.
