    Laboratory Technician (Analytical)

    The key purpose of this role is to carry out sampling, sample preparation and analysis of raw materials, in-process samples and packaged product.

    Key roles and responsibilities:

    • Carry out specialized and highly specialized quality analyses for which the shift-based teams are not responsible
    • Record the results of analyses on appropriate information systems and communicate results where required
    • Conduct analysis of results to identify problems and improvement opportunities timeously
    • Assist the shift-based teams in the execution of quality analysis, where required.
    • Conduct calibration of specialist equipment for which the labs are responsible and provide calibration assistance to the shift-based teams where required
    • Conduct required and requested quality audits, completing the appropriate documentation and communicating the results
    • Review quality analysis procedures of shift-based teams, identifying problems or training needs and communicating these to the team leader
    • Conduct regular audits of calibration procedures of shift-based production teams and communicating results
    • Conduct audits of analytic procedures to ensure compliance with COT guidelines, and identifying corrective actions required
    • Where required, initiate corrective actions coming out of the quality audits in areas that impact the laboratory
    • Support the shift-based production teams in problem solving, providing specialist assistance and techniques
    • Coach, mentor and assist shift-based production teams on problem solving and correct use of problem-solving techniques
    • Support the shift-based production teams by assisting in training needs analysis
    • Coach, mentor and assist shift-based production teams quality analyses and correct use of analytical techniques
    • Carry out specialized analyses in support of the evaluation of continuous improvement opportunities.
    • Determine additional analytical work required evaluating continuous improvement opportunities.
    • Take part in regional and divisional process optimization initiatives as required.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Minimum of B.Sc/HND in Chemistry or related field
    • 2-3 years’ experience in Laboratory, Brewing or Packaging operations
    • Understanding of process control within a brewing/process environment
    • Good understanding of the principles and practices of Manufacturing Excellence

    Brewing Operator

    The Key Purpose of this role is to safely operate and maintain defined Brewing equipment and process areas which have a bigger business impact with cost  and consumer quality and other related process to achieve optimal effectiveness.

    Key roles and responsibilities:

    • Complete associated tracking and monitoring
    • Complete operator workstation administration and act as required.​
    • Complete Team room administration as required.​
    • Contribute to self-development​
    • Manage PIMS & POMS and take corrective action on negative trends​
    • Use QFR's (As per triggers)​
    • Complete 5 WHY's (As per triggers) with relevant team members​
    • Contribute towards ABInBev reports as required​
    • Ensure process quality and productivity​
    • Carrying out autonomous operations as defined for the process areas​
    • Identify defective plant, and report these through to the Process Artisan or Team Leader to assist with resolution​
    • Assisting the Process Artisan/ Machine specialist in executing running repairs on shift​
    • Carrying out the required quality checks and analyses and recording the results on the  appropriate information system.​
    • The list of quality checks to be executed is contained in the work instructions
    • Ensure and maintain a safe and healthy work environment
    • Interpret and implement production plan for shift
    • Operate manual and automatic machines on the line as per standards
    • Monitor production processes on shift and correct any negative trends
    • Ensure process quality and productivity

    • Actively participate in shift meetings, asking questions to test understanding and contributing suggestions.
    • Making use of the action logs to record issues, problems and improvement opportunities.
    • Fully understand the team Dream and contribute in achieving it.
    • Make use of relevant communication media (e.g. shift logbook) to stay informed and inform others of issues.
    • Complete required hand over to incoming shift team members, ensuring the issues relating to plant performance, quality and maintenance are communicated

    Material Requirement Planner

    The key purpose of this role is to ensure consistent supply of materials to plants to satisfy production volumes while optimising cash flow.

    Key roles and responsibilities:

    • Deliver weekly and long term MRP runs
    • Prepare and present materials related KPIs, gaps and opportunities in supply review
    • Manage materials within cash flow budgets and against inventory policy
    • Manage call offs from suppliers
    • PR generations for all materials and Retpack
    • Supplier management (operational level)
    • Ensuring material supply against requirement
    • Expediting of urgent deliveries
    • Control/Loss Prevention and Obsolete Management
    • Stock level management at Brewery and Supplier
    • Materials management for NPD, Promotions and discontinuations, including phase in and phase out planning
    • Risk identification and mitigation
    • System and Master Data maintenance
    • Identify and implement cost avoidance and cost reduction initiatives
    • KPI tracking – DCBL material, Inventory Out of Range
    • Reporting

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Min – HND
    • B Tech Logistics or Equivalent qualification in Logistics or Commercial
    • Min – 6 months on the job training. 
    • Ability to negotiate and influence Suppliers
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Strong Problem-solving ability
    • Familiarity with Supply chain principles, from Purchasing through to manufacturing
    • Ability to use SAP, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
    • Excellent presentation, report drafting, and interpersonal skills
    • Discipline and rigor around process and attention to detail
    • Supply chain orientated degree, or degree in one of the numerical sciences preferred
