    Deputy Program Director

    Job Description

    • The Deputy Program Director will provide strategic leadership and support to the Program Director in developing and implementing organizational plans and policies.
    • The Deputy Program Director will ensure that operational systems and processes are efficient, effective, and productive and align with organizational goals and objectives.
    • Reports to: Program Director

    Responsibilities
    Strategic Leadership:

    • Collaborate with executive-level management to develop performance goals and long-term operational plans that align with organizational quality standards and best practices.
    • Set strategic goals for operational efficiency and increased productivity and develop plans to achieve them.
    • Ensure that operational systems and processes are integrated into organizational plans and policies and aligned with organizational goals and objectives.

    Operational Management:

    • Develop, implement, and monitor day-to-day operational systems and processes to provide visibility into critical initiatives' goals, progress, and obstacles.
    • Analyze current operational processes and performance, recommending improvement solutions where necessary.
    • Plan, monitor, and analyze critical metrics for day-to-day operations to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks.

    Capacity Building and Team Management:

    • Devise strategies for ensuring the growth of programs operational-wide and implement process improvements to maximize output and minimize costs.
    • Work closely with the operation manager, human resources manager, procurement manager, and programs lead to lead the team with integrity and establish and maintain a trusting, inclusive, and productive environment.
    • Uphold the organization's policies and standards and ensure compliance with regulations.

    Leadership and Collaboration:

    • Make decisions regarding operational activity and strategic goals based on relationships with department heads, external partners, and vendors.
    • Provide technical assistance and capacity-strengthening activities for program staff and partners to improve program quality and impact.
    • Ensure that reports are accurate, timely, and informative and provide actionable recommendations for program improvement.

    Reporting and Compliance:

    • Prepare and submit regular reports, including operational, financial, and compliance reports, to the program director and program stakeholders.
    • Ensure that reports are submitted on time and meet the required standards.
    • Ensure that all operational activities are compliant with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.

    Other Responsibilities:

    • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Program Director or program management team, including supporting other program components and initiatives.
    • Collaborate with program stakeholders to ensure operational systems and processes align with program goals and objectives.

    Requirements

    • Master's Degree (or equivalent) in Business Administration or a related field.
    • Ten or more years in a senior leadership role in a relevant field.
    • Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including finance, development community, and employee management.
    • Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes for maximum efficiency and productivity.
    • Ability to streamline or implement new structures and roles that boost speed and efficiency while supporting rapidly shifting business demands.
    • Strong working knowledge of industry regulations and legal guidelines.
    • Experience in developing budgets and business plans.
    • Proven ability to create innovative solutions that lead to increased productivity.
    • Superior negotiation skills for both internal and external purposes.
    • Masterful organizational, communication, and leadership skills backed up by previous professional success.
    • Strong working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics using business management software (ex: SAP, ERP, CRM).

    Director of Communication

    Job Purpose

    • The Director of Communication will provide strategic leadership and oversight to develop and implement CCDRN's strategy, ensuring that all communication activities align with the organization's objectives.
    • The Director of Communication will oversee the development of communications materials, manage the organization's image, and lead the communication team to ensure effective communication with various stakeholders.

    Key Responsibilities
    Strategic Leadership:

    • Develop and implement the CCDRN communication strategy, aligning with organizational goals and objectives.
    • Provide strategic guidance on communication to program teams, ensuring that communication activities are integrated into program design and implementation.
    • Collaborate with the Executive Director and other senior management team members to develop and implement organizational policies and procedures.

    Communication Planning:

    • Develop and implement comprehensive communication plans for CCDRN programs, including developing key messages, communication channels, and target audiences.
    • Conduct stakeholder analysis and identify key communication channels to reach target audiences.
    • Develop and implement social media strategy, including content, engagement plans, and evaluation metrics.

    Materials Development:

    • Oversee the development of communications materials, including reports, press releases, social media content, and other materials as needed.
    • Ensure that all communications materials are accurate, timely, and informative and align with CCDRN's image.
    • Collaborate with program teams to develop case studies, success stories, and other materials highlighting CCDRN's brand and Image Management.
    • Develop and implement a brand and image management plan, ensuring that CCDRN's image is accurately represented across all communication channels.
    • Ensure all communications materials align with CCDRN's guidelines and image.
    • Collaborate with the Executive Director and other senior management team members to develop and implement organizational policies and procedures related to brand and image management.

    Team Management:

    • Supervise and mentor the communication team, enhancing their capacity to execute communication activities effectively.
    • Provide technical assistance and capacity-strengthening activities for program staff and partners to improve communication skills and knowledge.
    • Collaborate with program teams to develop and implement communication plans and materials.

    Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Develop and implement stakeholder engagement plans, including developing key messages, communication channels, and target audiences.
    • Collaborate with program teams to develop and implement stakeholder engagement strategies, including developing partnerships and collaborations.
    • Ensure that all stakeholder engagement activities align with CCDRN's objectives.

    Reporting:

    • Prepare and submit regular reports, including communication plans, and progress reports, to the executive director and program stakeholders.
    • Ensure that reports are accurate, timely, and informative and provide actionable recommendations for program improvement.

    Other Responsibilities:

    • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or program management team, including supporting other program components and initiatives.
    • Collaborate with program stakeholders to ensure communication activities align with program goals and objectives.

    Required Skills and Experience

    • Master's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a closely related field.
    • At least seven years of experience in communication, public relations, or a related field, focusing on development, humanitarian, or peacebuilding contexts.
    • Strong strategic, analytical, and creative thinking capabilities, with a knack for problem-solving and decision-making.
    • Proficiency in communication software, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and social media management tools.
    • Experience in a humanitarian, peacebuilding, and development context is an added advantage.
