    ICRS Junior Outreach Assistant

    Overview of position:

    Under the overall supervision of the DDRR Senior Project Coordinator & under the direct supervision of the ICRS Program Officer, the successful candidate will be supporting the implementation & monitoring of outreach & reconciliation field activities & providing assistance to the program beneficiaries. Undertake outreach field visits & coordinate rapid response interventions to support the timely implementation of the project activities as well as support the implementation of the reconciliation & peacebuilding component of the DDRR program.

    S / he will:

    • Support in family tracing & mobilization for family reunification.
    • Support the social cohesion platforms in carrying out outreach & reconciliation activities carried out by the platform members across BAY states.
    • Conduct sensitization to prepare the community for beneficiaries’ reintegration, acceptance & support coordination of rapid response interventions.
    • Support beneficiary tracking & update upon their return to the community.
    • Support the ICRS Program Officer & Senior Program Assistant, in monitoring the activities of implementing partners, particularly IPs implementing social impact projects & provide regular updates.
    • Conduct a service providers mapping exercise & identify local partners for possible cooperation in assisting the target population.
    • Conduct a perception survey for selected participants who embarked on family reunification visit at OPSC camp Gombe.
    • Under the leadership of the ICRS Team Leader participate in regular staff meetings & other meetings with implementing partners & other relevant stakeholders.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned by the ICRS Project Officer or Senior Program Assistant.

    Project reporting:

    This role will work under the overall supervision of the DDRR Senior Project Coordinator & under the direct supervision of the ICRS Program Officer.

    Key competencies:

    • University Degree from an accredited institution in International Relations, Social Science, Law, Development & Humanitarian Affairs, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field with 1 year of relevant professional experience or a School Diploma with 3 years of relevant professional experience.
    • Experience in peacebuilding, community economic development, conflict resolution, community participation & social impact project is required.
    • Experience working with local authorities, stakeholders, beneficiaries & the broader community.
    • Experience in our clients administrative processes.
    • Experience in the usage of office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) & knowledge of spreadsheet & data analysis.
    • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
    • Good computer skills.
    • Fluency in English & multiple native language(s) are advantageous.
    • Keeps strict confidentiality when required.
    • Ability to work independently & with minimal supervision.
    • Accepts & gives constructive criticism.
    • Meets deadline, cost & quality requirements for outputs.

    ICRS Junior Psychosocial Support Assistant

    Overview of position:

    Working under the overall supervision of the DDRR Project Officer & the direct supervision of the ICRS Project Officer the successful candidate will be responsible for coordination with other members of the ICRS team including those in Gombe & will be responsible for providing quality psychosocial support to the beneficiaries of the ICRS project to improve their overall mental health as part of the DDRR program in Nigeria.

    Role objectives:

    • Provide psychosocial first aid to the target population.
    • Become fully familiar with psychosocial activities under the ICRS system & apply this knowledge to implement individual & group recreational, educational & sensitization activities for beneficiaries as well as support groups & conflict mediation if necessary.
    • Provide individual counseling sessions to the needs of the target population along with follow up sessions when necessary.
    • Conduct psychosocial support activities, ICRS profiling & ensure accurate data entry when required.
    • Identify cases that require specialized services & refer them.
    • Implement psychosocial support during family & community visits as well as bereavement support when necessary.
    • Update existing ICRS monitoring, evaluation & reporting tools such as databases according to deadlines established by the ICRS Officer.
    • Under the leadership of the ICRS Team Leader participate in regular staff meetings & other meetings with implementing partners & other relevant stakeholders.
    • Coordinate all psychosocial activities with the field staff & report on weekly bases.
    • Perform other related duties assigned by the ICRS Project Officer.

    Key competencies:

    • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or a related field.
    • Minimum of 3 years’ related working experience in psychology, social work, community mobilization & health.
    • Excellent knowledge of English & fluency in Hausa is also required.
    • Computer literacy is required.
    • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.

    ICRS Socio Economic Counselling Assistant

    Overview of position    

    Working under the overall supervision of the DDRR Senior Project Coordinator & under the direct supervision of the ICRS Project Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the planning, implementation & monitoring of socio economic counseling & assistance to ICRS beneficiaries. The ICRS project activities will be directly supervised by the ICRS Officer as the individual case management component of the DDRR program in Nigeria.

    Role objectives    

    • Assist in the planning, counseling, implementation & monitoring of the ICRS socio economic activities, including ICRS beneficiary profiling survey & data entry. 
    • Conduct service provider mapping & identify local partners for possible cooperation in assisting the target population & referral for socio economic opportunities. 
    • Assist working with ICRS field support staff in the implementation & documentation of socio economic assistance activities, success stories & lessons learned, impact & monitor closely each activity draft weekly & monthly plan & reports as well as draft ad hoc activity reports when requested.
    • Facilitate collation of beneficiary mentoring & monitoring reports & conduct data entry on a database on a weekly & monthly basis.
    • Undertake regular field visits to support the implementation of socio economic activities & ensure immediate response to challenges faced by beneficiaries in the field when possible. 
    • Assist the program to ensure effective, efficient & flexible implementation of approved ICRS projects / grants.   
    • Closely monitor each activity & report any challenges or delays to the ICRS Officer in a timely manner. 
    • Maintain friendly, open & professional communications with local counterparts, beneficiaries, contractors, suppliers, other agencies & organizations as well as local & national authorities. 
    • Perform any other duties assigned by the ICRS Project Officer or Unit Supervisor.

    Project reporting    

    This role will work under the overall supervision of the DDRR Senior Project Coordinator & under the direct supervision of the ICRS Project Officer.

    Key competencies    

    • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics or other relevant Social Sciences or an equivalent combination of education & training.
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in income generating / livelihood projects, business development, community economic development, conflict resolution, community participation & / or psychosocial projects, ideally in the humanitarian sector.
    • Previous work experience with an international organization will be considered an asset.
    • Computer literacy including analytical skills, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with minimum supervision, ability to travel extensively & work long hours, a drive for results & ability to handle multiple tasks.
    • Fluency in English & native language is advantageous.
    • Experience in ICRS activities.
    • Keeps strict confidentiality when required.
