    Medical Officer

    Summary

    • We are looking for an experienced medical officer who is equipped with adequate surgical skills. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of quality healthcare services to all patients
    • He is also expected to participate in developing, implementing, and evaluating the medical practice delivery model in accordance with the goals of the organization.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Diagnose the patient’s condition and prescribe treatments like antibiotics, diets, and sedatives both before and after the operation and help the patient in getting his bodily functions restored.
    • Diagnose internal injuries and diseases and prescribe medication or surgery.
    • Perform examinations to confirm that patients are strong enough to undergo surgery, explain the procedures, and discuss the risks involved.
    • Decide whether surgery is warranted, based on the patient’s records, tests, and examinations.
    • Review test results with patients and families to report findings and identify any abnormalities
    • Provide palliative care and pain management as well as counselling and support for end-of-life decisions
    • Analyse the medical history and records of the patients and plan the best procedure for treatment, taking into account the allergies and medical condition of the patient.
    • Monitor the patient’s health condition after surgery or treatment by coordinating follow-up meetings with the patient.
    • Provide an explanation of medical procedures and care plans to patients and their families
    • Provide palliative care and pain management, as well as counselling and support for end-of-life decisions.
    • Provide medical and scientific input to support product development teams
    • Keep abreast of all medical regulations and advises the management team on changes and required action.
    • Attend departmental meetings and professional training sessions as requested
    • Do other things as instructed by the medical director from time to time.

    Qualifications & Requirements
    Educational Qualification:

    • A Degree in Medicine with related specialization
    • Possesses relevant Practicing License
    • Certified member of the recognized professional body of medical practitioners (MDCN).

    Experience:

    • At least 2 years experience in medical practice preferably in a busy healthcare facility.
    • Hands-on experience in performing surgical procedures is a must.

    Nurse

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • To assess, plan, implement and evaluate the nursing care needs of a specific group of service users
    • To supervise, mentor, and teach qualified ancillary staff. To coordinate the patient environments on a shift-by-shift basis and to coordinate care for a specified group of service users. Note that this is a guideline, not a comprehensive list of duties.

    Assisting and Caring for Patients:

    • Providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as coworkers and patients’ families.
    • Perform physical examinations of your patients at the start of every shift
    • Administer prescribed drugs, injections, inhalation, intravenous, and other medications.
    • Adhere to and observe the ten rights of medication administration
    • Administer treatments such as physiotherapy, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy
    • Assist in examining or treating medical, surgical, and dental patients
    • Care for mentally ill patients
    • Prepare patients for tests, therapy, or treatments.
    • Prepare rooms, sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies, and ensure that stock of supplies is maintained

    Documenting and Recording Information:

    • Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic / magnetic form.
    • Maintain accurate detailed reports of patient’s history and treatments
    • Monitor, record, and report symptoms and changes in patients’ conditions.
    • All incidents or near misses must be reported in the appropriate form and to the shift leader / ward manager.

    Communicating with Shift Leaders, ward Managers, Nursing Colleagues, or Subordinates:

    • Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
    • Consult and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
    • Inform consultants and medical officers regularly of changes in patients’ conditions.
    • Interpret medical laboratory test results
    • Explain testing procedures to patient
    • Communicate information on patient care and related matters to the consultants, nurse in charge, or the ward manager.
    • Accept professional responsibility for the safe custody, administration, and recording of medications in accordance with the hospital medication policy.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Pharmacist

    Summary

    • We seek a versatile pharmacist who will ensure that all pharmacy-related operations within the Pharmacy department are undertaken efficiently. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the work of junior Pharmacy technicians, reviewing and evaluating drug inventory to ascertain its accuracy, and generating insightful reports for decision-making.
    • He/she will also support in ensuring effective and accurate budgetary controls, forecasting, and ensuring compliance with PCN standards and international best practices.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Procurement of medicines and consumables and other medical devices where necessary
    • Collection, organization, and evaluation of patient information, the management of medicines and consumables, distribution, and providing drug information and education to the patient.
    • Maintaining pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed medications and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipts and removing outdated drugs.
    • Checking and ensuring endorsement and approval of the regulatory body i.e (NAFDAC) where necessary.
    • Ensure patient’s safety; he/she is to check the patient’s medication record and provide necessary drug interventions
    • He/she is tasked with preparing, dispensing, distributing, and administering medications
    • Counsel the patient and advise on adherence to usage as prescribed to avoid resistance and explain to them the possible side effect of each drug.
    • Strict adherence to the usage of drug administration using EMR software.
    • Documentation and safety on disposal of poisons/narcotics (DDA) should be done under his/her strict supervision
    • Supervising the pharmacy technicians in order to achieve the optimum outcome.
    • Any other duty as determined by the Chief Pharmacist.

    Qualifications & Requirements
    Educational qualification:

    • Bachelor of Pharmacy
    • Registration and licensure with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria.

    Experience:

    • At least 3-5 years relevant experience in a fast-paced organization.
    • Cognate Experience in a Hospital is an added advantage.

    Pharmacy Technician

    Responsibilities

    • Collection, organization, and evaluation of patient information, the management of medical distribution, and providing drug information and education to the patient.
    • Maintains pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed medications and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipts and removing outdated drugs.
    • Check and ensure the approval of the regulatory body i.e (NAFDAC)
    • Providing quality customer service to patients and other healthcare providers
