    Nursing Team (iCCM) Supervisor

    Main Duties and Responsibilities

    • Plan, organize, and evaluate the activities concerning nursing and the team associated, according to MSF values, policies and protocols and universal health standards, in order to warrant the quality and continuity of health care and the development of the plan of action.

    Accountabilities

    • Carry out the functions and tasks associated with nursing i.e., perform as a nurse or anaesthetist, whenever required or needed, to optimize the resources, contributing with his/her knowledge and experience.
    • Implement all the protocols and hygiene procedures and supervise his/her team to follow the same standards, to warrant the quality of the care and service in his/her speciality.
    • Organize and coordinate the activities of his/her team (week’s schedule, annual leave, absences, etc.), evaluate their performance and define and ensure the needs for training of staff, to ensure the coverage of the human resources needs and maintain high standards of quality.
    • Carry out and/or supervise the (decentralized) pharmacy and medical equipment management (drugs orders, follow-up of the stock, storage conditions, inventories, follow-up of expired drugs and their destruction, drugs consumption, etc.) in his or her department, to satisfy the needs of material with efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Ensuring that all staff using medical devices are qualified and trained. Ensuring that cleaning and minor maintenance tasks are performed according to the protocols. Reporting any malfunction to the project biomedical service.
    • Carry out and/or coordinate administrative (exit paper, transfer paper, etc.), information and data collection (patient files, forms, statistics, etc.) tasks, and elaborate regular reporting, to have updated and reliable information about the day-to-day activity in the project, output/ outcome, and support decision-making.
    • Give feedback/ reports to the medical focal point.

    Specific Accountabilities:

    • Doing assessment of a new activity that may be implement in iCCM
    • Working in collaboration with iCCM and EPI focal person in LGA level
    • Supporting supervisors in the ward to ensure the quality of care and respect of the protocol in iCCM
    • Supporting EPI team in ensuring the quality of cold chain and respect of the schedule during the vaccination campaign
    • Supporting EPI and iCCM staff in ensuring that they have all necessary items needed to carry out their work.
    • Training and updating corps and EPI team level when necessary

    Minimum Required Skills and Qualifications
    Education:

    • Nursing diploma essential.

    Experience:

    • 1-year experience with MSF or with other NGOs is an asset.
    • iCCM experience is desirable

    Languages:

    • Mission language (English) is essential, and the Local language (Hausa, Fulani, Suru) is desirable.

    Nursing Team Supervisor

    Specific Accountabilities:

    • Provide leadership to the nursing Team in ITFC/ATFC unit fostering positive and collaborative environment
    • Together with NAM support in bedside coaching and training of the nurses and Nutrition Assistant. Report the training needs to the Nursing Activity Manager in order to create and organize teaching tools and trainings together.
    • Supervise the quality of nursing care provided: e.g. preparation and administration of medication, measuring and interpretation of vital signs, application of the medical protocols, clinical follow-up, and early detection of the medical complications.
    • Assist in the morning ward round to identify problems that should be attended to immediately.
    • Ensure a good and complete handover between the different shifts
    • Ensure that comprehensible health education sessions are given for all caretakers, performed by the health promoters and the medical staff.
    • Make sure that communication between the mental health counsellor, Health Promoter and other medical staff is clear and that is given to caretakers needing it.
    • Ensure a good working relationship between all the staff in all the units.
    • Participate in quality improvement and collaborate with IPC to improve Infection prevention measures
    • Good collaboration with other supervisors. e.g. Pharmacy and Laboratory
    • Be flexible to work in another department ITFC/ATFC
    • Assess and solve problems occurring between staff, in collaboration with the Nursing Activity Manager
    • Any other role which might be deemed important in ITFC/ATFC as requested by your Manager

    Minimum Required Skills and Qualifications
    Education:

    • Essential: Nursing Degree / Diploma. Speciality (Midwifery/ Anaesthetist etc) an advantage.

    Experience:

    • Essential: 2 years of previous Experience. Having worked with MSF or with other NGOs is desirable.

    Languages:

    • Mission language (English) is essential, and the Local language (Hausa, Fulani) is desirable.

    Counselor - Educator

    Main Duties and Responsibilities

    • Perform counselling and/or education sessions to patients, following different medical and mental health MSF protocols and procedures, to improve their psychosocial condition.

    Accountabilities

    • Identify the psychosocial, socio-economic, and administrative needs for patients.
    • Actively promote the availability of counselling services and conduct, individual or in group counselling, basic psycho educational sessions, to patients, their families (when needed), to alleviate their psychosocial difficulties within the project scope.
    • Refer patients to other specialists or other institutions for further assistance, when necessary, to propose the best support available.
    • Participate in the creation of any material needed for counselling activities and look after it.
    • Keep files and statistics of daily activities and participate in team meetings to share experiences and discuss special cases with other counsellors, preserving confidentiality.
    • Inform line manager of any problem of any kind arising during the day-to-day activities.
    • Take active part in trainings, supervisions/intervisions and support the activities manager, when necessary, in doing sensitization for MSF staff or external partners about mental health /psychosocial issues.
    • Discuss difficulties and problems in counselling with supervisor.

    Specific Accountabilities:

    • Conduct Psychological First Aid (PFA) newly admitted caregivers/mothers whose children died
    • Provide psychosocial support to caregivers with children in isolation and ICU wards in ITFC
    • Together with the CHEs in ITFC and ATFCs, orientate newly admitted caregivers
    • Conduct HIV Testing and counselling to patients/mothers of children aged 6-59 months in ITFC and ATFCs
    • Conduct HIV/TB adherence sessions to caregivers of children aged 6-59 months in ITFC and ATFCs
    • Manage conflict and LAMA prevention in ITFC and ATFCs
    • Conduct counseling (group or individual) for caregivers in ITFC and ATFCs

    Health Promoter Community Engagement Supervisor

    Main Duties and Responsibilities

    • In close collaboration with the HP IEC Activities Manager, implementing and supervising educational campaigns according to MSF values, standards, and procedures in order to increase awareness of the targeted population and to promote the prevention and treatment of diseases in the project area.

    Accountabilities
    HPCE strategy, activities, and monitoring:

    • Actively contribute to the design/adaptation of the HPCE strategy / workplan.
    • Lead and follow up on the implementation of the HPCE strategy / workplan, according to the chronogram.
    • Support participatory approaches and regular patient/community consultations before and during implementation of the HPCE strategy.
    • Organizing health awareness sessions for MSF's medical and non-medical staff
    • Support in the design of health education materials and participatory methods, applying the right process (pretesting, validation of content, translation).
    • Contribute to rapid assessments and surveys.
    • Actively support in the systematic collection, encoding and reporting of community feedback and rumours.
    • Support the implementation of community-based surveillance (data collection, active case finding, tracing, linkage to care.
    • Responsible for the planning and organization of community meetings (in collaboration with HPCE Manager).
    • Contribute to the community mapping.
    • Monitoring: Ensure the availability of the data collection tools; the data encoding in the database and the quality check.
    • Monitoring: Contribute to the analysis of the monitoring data and look for adjustments (in collaboration with HPCE manager), monthly reporting (MMR, sitrep,…).

    Team Management:

    • Contribute to the evaluation of the HP team (with the HPCE manager).
    • Contribute to the development plan for the HP team.
    • Training: Contribute to the needs assessment, design and implementation of training for the HP team, in collaboration with the HPCE manager.
    • Organize regular and systematic supervision of the HP activities and provide on-the-job-coaching.
    • Ensure the planning and practical organization of the activities for the HP team (HP roaster).
    • Ensure the organisation of regular HP team meetings.

    Specific Accountabilities

    • Mentor, coach and supervise HP-IEC Officer (ICCM), CHEs and ICCM CORPs in accordance with the project objectives
    • Supervise, coach and mentor HP-IEC officer (ICCM), CHEs and ICCM CORPs regarding health promotion and community engagement.
    • With the support of the HPCE manager, identify and organize and conduct HP trainings for ICCM CORPs and MSF HP staff.
    • Manage leave plans for the HP-IEC Officer assigned to community and ICCM activities.
    • Conduct the evaluations of the HP-IEC Officer (ICCM) with the support of the HPCE manager
    • Ensure HP-IEC officer (ICCM) and ICCM CORPS conduct health education using MSF approved tools in accordance with MSF protocol

    Coordinate and conduct meetings with community gatekeepers together with the HPCE manager:

    • Identify and map key actors in ICCM sites and community; coordinate meetings with these actors and be the focal point for networking with these actors (formal and informal authorities)

    Plan and implement HP activities in ICCM with the support of the HPCE manager:

    • Implement and monitor HP activities in ICCM (hand washing, health education, mapping, ORS/food/ITN demonstrations) according to HP strategy and chronogram
    • Together with ICCM supervisor, plan and share weekly movement plan
    • Organize and conduct health awareness sessions in the community, TFCs and among MSF staff
    • Participate in HP and ICCM meetings
    • Conduct qualitative HP assessments and surveys
    • Lead ICCM service promotion, social mobilization and acceptance in collaboration with ICCM CORPs and community mobilizers

    Collect required data according to HP and medical strategies, analyze the progress of HP work and submit them on a timely manner:

    • Collate, clean, and share ICCM (HP) data with the HPCE Manager and Data supervisor as required
    • Contribute to the analysis and reporting of HP data (monthly, quarterly, annual)

    Ensure project gets community perception and needs to make the activities community-friendly and more accepted:

    • Collect, collate and share with PMR, HPCE manager and FC feedback and rumours from the community
    • Together with the HP manager, share regularly activities, data, feedback, and suggestions through monthly meetings (community, MSF staff, ICCM team)

    Provide regular updates and feedback to the operations team regarding security in Kebbi state:

    • Essential Secondary school diploma.
    • Desirable Degree/Diploma in Public Health, Social sciences, Education, Community Health, Nursing, Behavioural sciences.

    • Essential At least 2 years experience in health promotion, team management experience, program implementation Desirable Experience in qualitative methodology
    • Desirable: Experience with MSF or other INGO.

    Languages:
