    Logistics Officer

    ROLE PURPOSE: 

    The Logistics Officer is responsible for managing drivers and warehouse staff, vehicle fleet, assets, warehousing and distribution to ensure effective, transparent and accountable logistics support to Save the Children program in the area of operation. Liaison with program teams to ensure adequate logistical consideration for coordination and planning of program implementation. Provides technical support and guidance to program teams on logistical elements of distribution & procurement planning. 

    KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

    Transport & Fleet

    • Managing and tracking of all vehicles on the fleet, including movement planning and day-to-day allocation 
    • Manage, maintain and repair vehicles in safe and efficient working order
    • Ensure that vehicles are checked on a daily basis, and that regular service and maintenance is carried out as per agreed schedule
    • Responsible for administering litigations and traffic offenses.
    • Ensure vehicles have current and lawful documentation.
    • Manage service agreements related to vehicle maintenance and fuelling. Monitor fuel consumption and submit monthly reports
    • Receive travel requests, and maintain trip schedules and Staff Movement Board.
    • Coordinate with incoming and outgoing travelers on pick up and drop times ensuring drivers are briefed of movement plans
    • Ensure best value for money and that travelers are clearly informed well in advance
    • Establish and maintain a list of contact details for preferred service providers including generator service and vehicle maintenance.
    • Data management for Profleet and Fleet Service Charge
    • Supervision of drivers

    Assets Management

    • Maintaining up-to-date control of all assets including tracking donor, value, and location, managing staff issue, and recording all asset movements and disposals
    • Oversee the issuance and return of assets to/from staff
    • Ensure good condition of assets, and maintain asset condition reports.
    • Conduct monthly asset checks and share report with CO assets management focal person
    • Conduct annual physical verification of assets as required and share completed physical asset check report to CO as required.
    • Ensure timely reporting of asset losses and damages using existing reporting templates.

    Warehouse and Distribution

    • Enter all new items purchased in SCI TIM software and ensure reconciling with POs in ProSave.
    • Manage and maintain the physical warehouse and TIM online warehouse.
    • Ensure timely monthly spot check, quarterly and bi-annual stock check and reconciliation.
    • Ensure all stock and assets purchased are entered in TIM and the Master Assets Register.
    • Ensure all program stock are released through TIM and accompanied with a waybill to point of usage.
    • Ensure BHs are informed about stock balances, expired, expiring SOF and other irregularities or discrepancy in TIM respectively.
    • Participate in procurement and distribution planning meetings and provide sufficient logistics input in planning
    • Support program teams with the distribution of program supplies to beneficiaries in line with SCI warehousing, inventory management and distribution guidelines.
    • Ensure adherence to SCI Warehousing and Inventory Management Manual and Toolkit.
    • Prepare and share warehouse stock reports with Program team on a monthly basis.

    Administration & Reports

    • Maintain all logistic files in an organized, accurate and up to date manner
    • Line manages, coordinate, monitor and guide the work of the drivers, warehouse staff, casual labourers and any other logistics support by managing performance on an on-going basis
    • Produce logistics site report, vehicle and generator cost performance report.
    • Update Asset Register and send to country office every month.
    • Update the vehicle cost schedule and produce regular vehicle performance and cost reports and send to country office once per month.
    • Comply with all relevant Save the Children policies and procedures with respect to child protection, code of conduct, fraud, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies
    • Work in close collaboration with the finance and administration departments to ensure effective operations and strong team spirit
    • Carry out any other tasks required by the line manager

    SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

    Administrative & General Skills

    • Level of Education – Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics and Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Business Administration or related field.
    • Professional qualification in Logistics and Transport Management an added advantage.
    • Communication & Interpersonal Skill Level - Excellent
    • Language Requirements – English - Excellent
    • Level of IT Expertise Required - Good

    Experience Expectations

    • Desired Number of Years Prior Experience in a Similar Role – 2

    Finance Officer

    ROLE PURPOSE: 

    The position holder will support the Accounts Payable team in the upload of vendor invoices for payments.  This role holder will work closely with supply chain to promptly resolve all pending invoices based on contract terms and conditions.

    In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

    KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: 

    • Lead on invoice upload for the country office, ensuring all invoices are actioned within set timelines and vendors, receive value based on agreed timelines.
    • Completely allocate all consolidated invoices before month end
    • Manage the account payable accounts and ensure all corrective actions are completed before month end and year end close.
    • Monthly analysis of spend and cost drivers for senior management decision.
    • A thorough understanding of SCI safeguarding policy and applying these policies in his/her role.
    • Review on a weekly basis, Open items for all suppliers and take corrective actions as required.
    • Monitor invoice failure, troubleshooting and identifying the root cause of the failure and resolve accordingly.
    • Actively support document archiving and audit process
    • Any other task as assigned by the line manager within the role of the finance officer.

    MEAL Assistant

    ROLE PURPOSE:

    Nivi and Save the Children is implementing an 18-month project aimed at improving vaccine acceptance, confidence and convenience using online platform (Nivichat bot).

    Nivi and Save the Children are proposing a digital-first solution centered around three key ideas to increase confidence in and drive uptake of childhood immunizations and the HPV vaccine:

    • Raising awareness about the benefits of both types of vaccinations, and the ease at which they can be obtained
    • Activating caregivers and parents, increasing their motivation and readiness to get their children vaccinated
    • Facilitating action by connecting parents/caregivers who are ready to act to vaccination services that are accessible, and affordable (or free), and following up with them to keep them engaged with their child’s ongoing health needs.

    The MEAL Assistant will be a part of the MEAL team. He/she will assist the MEAL team with activities, including data collection, validation and entry. S/he will support in coordination with operations and assist in planning field visits and assessments. S/he will also support in ensuring Accountability in supported communities including information sharing, participation and ensuring efficient feedback and response mechanisms.

    Role Dimensions: Field office-based position with at least 70% field visit.

    Monitoring and Evaluation:

    • Assist with data collection and verification processes as necessary.
    • Conduct field monitoring visits and ensure  the use of the quality benchmarks/ monitoring checklist & work with project teams to develop action plans based on findings.
    • Assist with planning, logistics & data collection for project assessments and evaluations

    Accountability:

    • Responsible for handling documenting, confidentiality, and security of all informational resources related to feedback and complaints from beneficiaries.
    • Support Complaints and Feedback Mechanisms, including communicating responses to complainants; liaise with programs and operations to ensure prompt follow-up on feedback and complaints received.
    • Support in facilitating participation activities in implementing communities

    Knowledge Management & Learning

    • Support in the archiving of Project Documents in the Resource Centre
    • Support in gathering information for the development of case studies and success stories for the project.
    • Support is preparing relevant project reports

    Coordination:

    • Maintain liaison with MEAL unit and other units including programmes, finance, supply chain, advocacy and campaign etc including field coordination/community mobilization team.
    • Engage with Nivi team as needed

    Safeguarding

    Ensure risk assessments are done before any data collection that involves children.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a minimum of 1 year of experience working with International NGOs, UN agencies, partners, and/or local authorities including NYSC.
    • Computer literate with experience in the following computer packages; MS word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Access.

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    Essential:

    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Problem analysis and problem-solving.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Suite & other relevant computer applications.
    • Ability to work in a team with flexibility to undertake challenging tasks and adapt to different working conditions.

    Policy, Advocacy and Campaign (PAC) Officer

    ROLE PURPOSE: 

    Under the guidance of the Advocacy, Campaign and Policy Manager, the PAC Officer will contribute to the development of Advocacy and Campaign strategy for the NGA Immunization Coverage Project and be responsible for field implementation of advocacy activities as captured in strategy and workplan.  This will focus on approaches to increase confidence in and drive uptake of childhood immunizations and the HPV vaccine using a digital-first solution (ask Nivi), engage askNivi users in the target audiences and present policy recommendations and a business case for local, state, and national authorities to enable scaling of the solution across Nigeria in partnership with the national, state level, and local health authorities.

    KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

    Programme Quality and Advocacy

    • Contribute to the planning, costing and implementation of the project and contribute to the overall key programme planning, coordination and reporting activities.
    • Support in documenting success stories and contribute to the writing of reports, case studies, briefing papers, and presentations for internal and external audiences as relevant.
    • Collaborate with consultants to create scripts for Community Participatory Theatre and mobilize communities to engage with these productions.
    • Distribute reminder bracelets to improve immunization coverage and engage community gatekeepers for program acceptance.
    • Execute immunization awareness campaigns in Junior Secondary Schools and with youth groups like NYSC, selecting ambassadors and influencers.
    • Organize webinars featuring child advocates to promote immunization.
    • Collaborate with the SPHCDA to identify and geolocate centres providing immunization services.
    • Facilitate meetings for health workers to report and discuss side effects from immunizations.
    • Recruit and manage volunteers to help patients use the askNivi chatbot to provide feedback on immunization services.
    • Organize community practice meetings with stakeholders for immunization uptake initiatives.
    • Engage in advocacy efforts with government officials, professional groups, and other relevant entities.
    • Plan and execute events for global health awareness days, and coordinate media engagements such as press releases, conferences, and roundtables.
    • Conduct quarterly strategy review meetings with stakeholders to modify interventions as needed
    • In collaboration with the MEAL coordinator collect data and analyse the progress of project’s activities.
    • Use and adhere to available implementation technical documents (ToRs, tools, SoPs, training manuals, guidelines, and protocols) assiduously to ensure programs are of high quality and comply with the country, SCI standards and best practices.
    • Actively contribute to the process of learning, evaluation, capturing and disseminating lessons from the programme for continuous improvement of programme performance and overall outcome

    Safeguarding

    • Support safeguarding team in carrying out safeguarding risk assessment and develop a mitigation plan when needed.
    • Flag safeguarding concerns noticed during programme implementation as well as share good practices identified in the field.
    • Ensure that all children and programme beneficiaries are provided with ongoing, age-appropriate verbal or written information in relevant languages about Save the Children’s Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct.

    QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

    Essential

    • Bachelor’s degree in the social or behavioural sciences, public health, health education, health promotion, development studies, development economics, rural development/sociology, or other related fields.
    • Any training on Advocacy, Communication and Social Mobilization be an added advantage.
    • Minimum of 3 year-experience in health financing, health governance, enhanced voice and accountability or similar roles,
    • Fluency in English language. Knowledge of local languages (Yoruba) will be an added advantage.
    • Ability to be proactive when required to be able to keep advocacy plans dynamic and aligned to new policy and political developments.
    • Ability to clearly communicate and easily relate to state, LGA and community authorities.
    • Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment
    • Comply with the requirements of Save the Children’s commitment to protect children in accordance with the Child Safeguarding Policy.
