    Community and Youth Engagement Officer

    Role: Entry-Mid level

    Our Client is an NGO that drives positive change in Africa through her bespoke intervention programs that engender youth transitions in the areas of entrepreneurship, civic involvement, social status shift, as well as employability.

    Consequent to recent strategic expansion, the organization is seeking to hire a Community and Youth Engagement Officer for its Nigeria Youth Futures Funds (NYFF) Project, which aims to strengthen, support and enable young people in Nigeria for youth leadership, activism and social change through outcome-driven policy engagements and inclusive resourcing that will equip youth in shaping and supporting medium and long-term national development.

    CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Work closely with the Project Lead to develop the project’s youth outreach and engagement strategy by developing creative activities and approaches to attract and engage programme participants and beneficiaries.
    • Craft the engagement plan for the project in line with the National Youth Future Funds (NYFF) strategy.
    • Identify media opportunities and promote NYFF youth engagement projects, events, and initiatives on social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Youtube,and Telegram.
    • Create a robust communication, marketing and media strategy and be responsible for implementation of the strategy.
    • Oversee the development and management of the domain, website and NYFF social media.
    • Create content for digital marketing and social media with focus on the milestones and objectives of the NYFF.
    • Oversee all brand management and creative elements associated with the NYFF project.
    • Develop and strengthen community partnerships with external stakeholders, such as schools and colleges, as well as with youth networks.
    • Plan, organize and host focused events on a regular basis for youth leaders, activists and organizations to educate youths on the numerous benefits of the National Youth Future Funds (NYFF) project.
    • Work closely with the organization’s communications team to develop and prepare publicity material to promote National Youth Future Funds (NYFF) projects, direct outreach events and initiatives on all social media in line with the organization’s guidelines.
    • Prepare and share weekly and monthly reports to all relevant stakeholders on the achievements and progress of the National Youth Future Funds (NYFF) project.
    • Compile and submit the summary of evidence-based highlights/ success stories on the National Youth Future Funds (NYFF) project.
    • Oversee the creation of publications and related materials.
    • Document all conversations and debates accurately and neutrally. Ensuring these elements are fed back into strategies and work plans for effective youth engagement.
    • Manage the online portal, ensuring that it continues to exist to serve the purpose of continuous engagement and context respiratory for future use.
    • Oversee the Virtual Community of Practice and alumni engagements.
    • Engage in other tasks that may emerge as a result of the growth of the organization and as assigned by your supervisor.

    The required candidate should possess the following:

    • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences. (A Masters’ Degree is an added advantage).
    • Minimum of 3 - 4 years relevant experience in engaging virtual/physical communities;
    • Experience with youth-focused projects.
    • Excellent communication skills both oral and written, with very good public speaking skills and facilitation skills.
    • High level of creativity and problem solving, and conceptualization.
    • Experience leading and designing digital marketing campaigns.
    • Strong copy writer and editing skills.
    • Experience working on national projects.
    • Experience of working with a wide range of stakeholders and representing the views of young people.
    • Possess very good interpersonal skills, negotiation skill, sound judgment and a good team player.
    • Strong work ethics; Willing to travel.
    • Proficient in the use of MS office suite, Google suite, data entry and analysis tools
    • Performance driven and mission oriented.
    • Self-driven and motivated.
    • Entrepreneurial in nature and proactive.
    • Looking to work in a fast-paced project and organization.

    Grants Monitoring & Evaluation Officer

    Role: Mid-level

    Consequent to recent strategic expansion, the organization is seeking to hire a Grants Monitoring & Evaluation Officer for its Nigeria Youth Futures Funds (NYFF) Project, which aims to strengthen, support and enable young people in Nigeria for youth leadership, activism and social change through outcome-driven policy engagements and inclusive resourcing that will equip youth in shaping and supporting medium and long-term national development.

    CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    GRANT MANAGEMENT

    Coordinate, in collaboration with the Project lead and other relevant stakeholders all activities relating to the preparation, management, research and review of all grants’ applications by program beneficiaries.

    Establish processes and procedures for the negotiation and award of contracts including grant pre-awards and post-awards actions to meet relevant requirements; ensuring compliance with appropriate federal, state, and local regulations.

    Maintain accurate documentation and records of all proposals and funding activities; effectively manage a large database of beneficiaries; prepare special reports and analyses of the data gathered for this project.

    Manage all grant related communication, enquiries, queries on the grant giving and reporting process.

    MONITORING AND EVALUATION

    • Conduct proper monitoring and evaluation for the implementation of grant contracts and awards, ensuring adherence to all terms and conditions of the grant contracts.
    • Create and provide monitoring and evaluation tools to subgrantees.
    • Collaborate with the finance unit to prepare relevant budgets for the programme and financial reports relating to grants administration.
    • Report to and work closely with the NYYF Programmes Lead and the MERL team in fulfilment of all your job tasks and deliverables.
    • Prepare thematic reports and share regular weekly and monthly reports with all relevant internal and external stakeholders.
    • Produce several research products such as articles, opinion pieces, evaluation reports and learning materials to be distributed across appropriate channels in different formats.
    • Achieve milestones and objectives of the NYFF project.
    • Participate and/or assist in special projects and perform associated administrative duties.
    • Engage in other tasks that may emerge as a result of the growth of the organization and as assigned by Supervisor
    • Generate insights and recommendations for communicating the impact of the NYFF project.

    The required candidate should possess the following:

    • Bachelor's degree in any field.
    • Experienced in grant administration, monitoring and evaluation.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Good organizational and administrative skills, with a keen eye for detail.
    • Possess very good interpersonal skills, negotiation skill, sound judgment.
    • Strong presentation skills and experience in leading stakeholders’ meetings.
    • Strong work ethics.
    • Proficient in the use of MS office suite, Google suite, data entry and analysis tools.
    • Performance driven and mission oriented.
