    Head, Private Banking

    Principal Responsibilities

    • Focus on selling Coronation Merchant Bank’s investment services to high net worth individuals primarily through face to face meetings and networking with various sources through direct prospecting, cultivation of external referral sources, and creative networking with key influencers
    • Identify and build high-quality client relationships within the high net worth market.
    • Research prospects financial picture to develop an informed perspective on individual prospects and/or clients’ situations and possible needs in order to determine how to best provide service as well as use as a vehicle for selling products that will preserve and grow our clients’ wealth.
    • Responsible for generating leads and managing the sales process through closure.
    • Maintains periodic contact with existing clients and acts as a liaison between the clients and the rest of the business for various activities (e.g. setting up accounts, facilitating transactions).
    • Cross-sell relationship improvement opportunities to the existing clients providing pertinent client update information to partners within appropriate areas of the business.
    • Responsible for oversight and management of a group of Relationship Managers and Officers.
    • Hire, coach, and motivate a team of Relationship Managers and Officers to achieve and exceed the territories’ client service benchmarks and sales goals.
    • Evaluate and assign Officers appropriate books of clients
    • Assist in reviewing planning and advice cases for complex client accounts.
    • Develop and maintain a good understanding of Coronation Merchant Bank’s competitors.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or any other related discipline
    • Master’s in Business Administration (MBA)
    • A minimum of 8 years in a related field with at least 4/5 years’ experience in a similar position, with relevant exposure to Private Banking and Wealth Management
    • Deep awareness and understanding of the financial industry.

    Relationship Manager

    Principal Responsibilities:

    • Source and participate in the acquisition of new clients to increase the teams’ market share of clients.
    • Solicit, develop, generate and manage full-service relationships with clients.
    • Maintain client database, keep current client plans up-to-date, and engage new clients on an ongoing basis.
    • Provide expertise and professional investment advice using the best services and products available to ensure clients' financial and non-financial goals are met.
    • Provide clients with a high level of individualized customer service consistent with their service needs and expectations.
    • Track clients’ investments and give proactive suggestions to enhance the portfolio performance on a regular basis.
    • Continuous analysis of the competitive environment and identifying/monitoring the product/service needs of the customer segment.
    • Keep abreast of new regulations or policies that may affect various investment decisions/strategies of clients.
    • Inform clients of new financial products and services and changes to legislation regarding their savings and investments.
    • Acquire a strong knowledge of mutual funds, financial markets, relevant legal, tax, and regulatory issues, asset allocation models, and retirement programs.
    • Develop products in line with the needs of clients.
    • Ensure that weekly and monthly activity status and performance reports for the unit are prepared for the attention of the Head of Department.
    • Ensure proper KYC procedures are in place and strictly adhered to.
    • Reactivation of dormant account
    • Promote sales through frequent client meetings and discussions covering new products, market and industry developments.
    • Develop strategic sales plan in coordination with client managers and other colleagues as appropriate
    • Comply with all Bank’s compliance requirements including KYC

    Minimum Qualifications

    • First Degree or its equivalent.
    • Additional professional qualifications in Investment Management, Business Management, Banking, Social Sciences or an MBA are an added advantage.
    • Minimum of 6-8 years cognate experience. Experience should typically be in credit/marketing, relationship management, treasury sales, private banking, and funds management functions in the banking sector.

    Head, Project and Structured Finance

    Principal Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the execution, management, and co-ordination of secured project & structured finance transactions
    • Provide support to the Group Head of Investment Banking in deals/transaction origination of project & structured finance
    • Develop and articulate a comprehensive strategic structuring framework for handling project finance deals
    • Ensure speedy and quality documentation and packaging of transactions to meet set objectives
    • Provide cutting edge project finance advisory and structuring advisory services
    • Lead on capital raising syndications necessary for financing projects
    • Carry out design/structuring products/platforms for delivering /achieving advisory/capita raising targets for attained mandates
    • Provide support for the Group Head of Investment Banking in strategic/budgetary planning and execution
    • Prepare status reports on a periodic basis
    • Perform any other responsibilities as may be directed from time to time by the Group Head of Investment Banking

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or any related discipline
    • 5-8 years of investment banking experience
    • MBA or relevant MSc will be an added advantage

    Competency and Skill Requirements:

    • Extensive experience in a structured finance product development and development and delivery role and/ or a related financial services discipline
    • Excellent knowledge and understanding of credit risk, products, and services

    Deputy Head, Investment Banking

    Principal Responsibilities

    • Develop appropriate structures and deal execution strategies for all transactions
    • Quality control on all documents and correspondences going out of the department.
    • Ensuring compliance and risk management best practice
    • Interface with both regulators and clients with a view to ensuring adequate see-through of transactions.
    • Manage and sustain team morale and human resource planning
    • Ensure adequate and timely preparation of all periodic reports and interface with relevant departments on those expectations
    • Support the group head in ensuring the achievement of the team's budget
    • Ensure that the team achieves its strategic objectives as set out by the Board and management.
    • Represent the group head at all meetings where the department is expected to be present but for which the group head is not available to attend.

    • Serve as internal and external thought leader by participating in key industry conferences, publishing thought pieces in web logs, being interviewed by journalists and trade journals, and other avenues to generate exposure and build brand People & Organization Management
    • Effectively supervise the Investment Banking Group.
    • Guide and manage execution teams on day-to-day execution of deals
    • Provide leadership, professional development and mentoring for reporting staff

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics (or any of its related courses)
    • MBA or MSc. in Finance related discipline is an added advantage
    • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in Investment Banking, conducting advisory related projects with demonstrable M&A execution experience.

    Competency and Skill Requirements:

    • Good knowledge of corporate finance, including mergers and acquisitions, and equity and debt capital raising transactions.
    • Thorough understanding of capital advisory services and the M&A process, complex debt/equity/distressed restructurings, creating buyer/seller strategies, deal structuring and negotiation
    • Strong understanding of the capital marketplace, including deal multiples, pricing, structure, potential financing sources and buyers, and an ability to develop capital-raising strategies and execute upon those strategies
    • Experience managing investment banking transaction execution teams.
    • Strong knowledge of various sectors of the economy, especially Nigerian and African markets
    • Knowledge of and ensuring the Bank's adherence to global best practice and standards in Investment Banking and related concepts.
    • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, solid research skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment and/or independently
    • Ability to find and contact potential clients, with ability to build (or utilize existing) extensive network of potential clients and referral sources

    • Demonstrated experience with managing day to day aspects of client relationships and projects
    • Demonstrated record of leadership and effective management in matrixed organizations
