    Manager, Instrumentation

    Description

    We are currently seeking an experienced Manager, Instrumentation to join their our Ibese Cement Plant. This role will for the cement mills implementation of instrumentation engineering and maintenance policies with company SOPs to ensure optimal plant availability for production.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain instrumentation systems and procedures for construction projects in accordance with industry standards and company policies.
    • Oversee the design, installation, calibration and maintenance of all instrumentation systems in use.
    • Develop instrumentation system operational procedures and ensure all instrumentation technicians are trained in their use.
    • Coordinate instrumentation system repairs and upgrades with external contractors and suppliers.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards and regulations.
    • Supervise all instrumentation activities within the construction team and provide technical support when necessary.
    • Prepare and control budgets for instrumentation engineering projects.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
    • At least 8 years of experience in an instrumentation engineering role, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
    • Knowledge of current instrumentation technology, standards, codes, and regulations related to construction projects.
    • Strong communication and leadership skills with a proven ability to work collaboratively.
    • Proactive problem solver with good analytical and decision-making abilities.
    • Ability to organize and execute multiple projects with competing priorities.
    • Experience in the construction industry is preferred.

    Program Controller - Dangote Sugar Refinery

    Description

    The Program Controller for the Sugar Backward Integration Program (BIP) is a critical role responsible for overseeing and managing the program's financial, performance, and scheduling aspects. This position involves setting key performance indicators (KPIs), tracking progress, and ensuring that the program stays within its defined scope, budget, and timeline. The Program Controller will work closely with various stakeholders to monitor program performance, recommend corrective actions, and report on the program's status to senior management.

    Responsibilities:

    • Set clear and measurable key performance indicators (KPIs) and targets for the BIP, ensuring they align with the overall strategic goals of the company.
    • Develop benchmarks and performance standards to evaluate the program's progress against its objectives.
    • Continuously monitor the program's performance, tracking progress against established KPIs and targets.
    • Identify any variances between the actual performance and the baseline and recommend corrective actions to address these discrepancies.
    • Prepare, manage and liaise with the Finance department in managing the program's budget, ensuring that all financial resources are allocated efficiently and align with the program’s objectives.
    • Develop a comprehensive program timeline, setting a baseline to track progress and ensure timely completion of all tasks and milestones.
    • Prepare and present regular status and progress reports to senior management, providing insights into the program's performance and any issues that need attention.
    • Maintain clear and consistent communication with all relevant stakeholders, ensuring they are informed of the program's status and any significant developments.
    • Apply advanced techniques and software tools to monitor and control the program's performance, ensuring accurate tracking of all program components.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or any related field. A Master’s degree or equivalent in a related discipline is preferred.
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in program or project management, with at least 5 years in a controlling or supervisory role within the sugar agricultural sectors.
    • Extensive knowledge of program management principles, particularly in the sugar manufacturing or agricultural sectors, with a focus on large-scale sugarcane projects.
    • Proficient in using program management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent, for tracking and controlling program performance.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Relevant certifications in program management (e.g., PgMP) project management (e.g., PMP) are highly desirable.
    • Deep understanding of the sugar industry, including the financial and operational processes associated with backward integration projects.

    Technical Leader - Dangote Sugar Refinery

    The Technical Leader for the Sugar Backward Integration Program (BIP) is a key leadership role responsible for managing and supervising all technical aspects of the BIP. This position requires a highly skilled professional with a strong background in engineering, project management, and technical supervision within the manufacturing or agricultural sectors, particularly in large-scale sugarcane integrated projects. The Technical Leader will ensure that all technical components of the BIP are executed with precision, integrating appropriate technologies and solutions that align with the company's strategic goals.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage and supervise the development of technical studies and designs for the BIP, ensuring that all designs meet industry best practices, standards and project requirements.
    • Conduct thorough reviews of technical designs, plans, and specifications to ensure accuracy, feasibility, and alignment with project objectives.
    • Lead technical audits to evaluate and ensure that the most appropriate and advanced technologies are selected and acquired for the program.
    • Engage with technology providers, consultants, and other service providers to assess and select the best technological solutions for the project.
    • Supervise and manage the technical implementation of BIP projects, ensuring that all technical tasks are completed on time, within scope, and meet quality standards.
    • Oversee the integration of new technologies and processes into existing systems, ensuring that all components work together efficiently and effectively.
    • Develop and enforce standardization protocols to ensure consistency and compatibility across all technical aspects of the BIP.
    • Implement and oversee quality control measures to ensure that all technical deliverables meet the required standards and specifications.
    • Provide regular updates on the technical progress of the BIP to senior management, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and solutions.

    Requirements

    • Minimum of 15 years of experience in technical project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the sugar agricultural sectors.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or any related field. A Master’s degree or equivalent degree or certificates in a technical discipline is preferred.
    • Extensive knowledge of engineering principles, particularly within the sugar manufacturing and cane production sectors, with a focus on large-scale sugarcane integrated projects.
    • Proven leadership abilities, with experience in managing cross-functional technical teams and coordinating with external partners.
    • In-depth understanding of the latest technologies and trends relevant to the sugar industry, including process automation, integration, and standardization.
    • Extensive experience in managing technical aspects of large-scale projects, preferably in the sugar industry or related fields.
    • Relevant certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) or technical disciplines (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, Certified Manufacturing Engineer) are highly desirable.
    • Deep understanding of the sugar industry, including the processes, technologies, and regulatory requirements associated with backward integration projects.
