    Programme Managing Director

    About the Role

    • The Managing Director is responsible for providing overall leadership management and general technical direction of the entire program, ensuring an integrated vision among different components, functions and stakeholders, and a focus on achieving the results defined in the contract.
    • You will be responsible for leading and overseeing the development, delivery and day-to-day management of a high quality, innovative, cost effective and sustainable education program resulting in immediate and lasting change for children and building the capacity of the duty bearers.
    • This is a highly hands-on job, involving intense program management, broad technical knowledge covering financial management, supply chain, government relations and school operations management.

    What You Will Do

    • At least 10 years (or 8 if you have gone through a rigorous Master’s degree program from an institution of repute) of progressively responsible experience working in project management and design in developing countries, preferably including experience in the state or country to which you will be assigned.
    • At least 5 years of management experience, including direct supervision of professional and support staff and assembling teams working in multi-faceted roles including field based roles.

    Senior Data Analyst

    About the Role

    • The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for conducting various descriptive analyses and writing briefs within the organisation. Specifically, this role will focus on programme expansion and new launches.
    • These analyses range from predicting pupil enrolment using census surveys to proposing a teacher utilisation model by analysing teacher and classroom data.
    • The daily work involves both simple descriptive analyses using a few Excel formulas and more complex work using multiple Stata or R scripts. To do this, the Senior Data Analyst will need to manage all parts of the data analysis process - from the design stage through the execution of analyses and the reporting of the findings to other internal stakeholders.
    • The analyst is responsible for providing high-quality data products on which other colleagues can rely and build their work. As such, this role is at the core of all the Data Analytics efforts within NewGlobe.
    • We view data and analytics as core to our ability to learn as an organisation. We want to cultivate data and analytics rock stars who produce and use data to reveal actionable insights for NewGlobe’s rapidly growing network of schools. 

    What You Will Do

    • Clean and analyse datasets. These datasets can be used to answer questions from a wide range of topics such as staff utilisation, pupil enrolment, and induction training attendance.
    • Ensure the creation of proper data pipelines and best data management practices.
    • Write briefs on findings and propose the best practices to leaders within the organisation.
    • Contribute to a culture of data-driven decision-making by collaborating with various team members across programmes.
    • Accommodate requests for quick analyses. Time-sensitive questions will come from the VPs and C-Level Executives and usually take anywhere from a few hours to a few days. Often, you will need to direct your staff to use their best judgment in the face of imperfect data.
    • Other duties may be required by the Directors, VP of Schools, and C-level executives.
    • Lead the Data Analytics team in the Lagos office by guiding Data Analysts in data clearing and data management processes.

    What You Should Have

    • Undergraduate Degree (or its equivalent) or Master's degree – in a relevant academic discipline, for example (but not limited to) Education Policy, Public Policy, Economics, or Statistics.
    • 4 + years of Experience.
    • High data literacy and a strong background in data cleaning, data management, and data analysis. Previous experiences in education management, such as being an analyst, research assistant, and data manager in public schools, is a plus. 
    • A high level of proficiency with Stata, SAS,  or R, and Excel. Any other data analysis software or coding language is a plus. Experience with survey software like Google Forms is also a plus.

    Schools, Director

    About the Role

    • The Director, Schools is responsible for the performance management of every school in the territory.
    • This includes school management, academic programming, school programming, staff professional development, regulatory compliance, commercial sustainability, and parent and community engagement in every school we support. You have incredible responsibility for the integrated delivery of all our programming in each school, for each teacher, and for each child. 
    • Consequently, your focus on using data to drive performance, constant coaching to change behaviour, and rigorous implementation of core school programs is critical.  The team you supervise is in schools each day, providing ongoing mentorship, specific performance feedback, and ongoing group and personal training. You manage one of the largest teams in the company, led by the field team of School Supervisors that give daily support to each school.
    • In this role, you also engage with all stakeholders of the schools under your care, including government officials, parents, and community groups as may be required, just as your school supervisors do in the community of each school. 
    • Instructional leadership is a core part of your remit, ensuring that school leaders and teachers are delivering on our promise to ensure each child has the opportunity to learn, which only happens when each teacher uses the right materials at the right time each day, listens and responding to students’ learning, and is supported by the school leader in this practice daily.

    About the Role

    • We are seeking a talented, motivated and adaptable individual to support the VP, New Opportunities and the rest of the New Opportunities team as Project Director. The ideal candidate is a multifaceted individual who will work closely with the VP, New Opportunities in a job shadow capacity.

    What You Will Do
    Ensure that all new programme’s launch milestones are attained on schedule:

    • Manage & update the programme launch calendar (LaunchCal)
    • Ensure appropriate follow through on actions, decisions, and commitments made by the VP, New Opportunities by working with the parties responsible for implementation
    • Attend functional team meetings to keep a pulse on the business and help connect dots with others across the organisation
    • Assess inquiries directed to the VP, New Opportunities, determine the proper course of action and delegate to the appropriate individual to manage
    • Assist the VP, New Opportunities in facilitating effective decision-making

    Continuously improve launch performance:

    • Coordinate the execution of strategic initiatives
    • Prepare periodic business performance and market analysis, business trends and provide insight with the aim to increase operational efficiency
    • Deliver business planning processes (forecasts, budgets, long-range plans) including analysis of variances with relevant commentary to support management decision making
    • Translate business requirements to technical requirements. This includes using powerful analysis and modelling tools to match strategic business objectives with practical technical solutions

    What You Should Have

    • A Bachelor’s Degree from a top-tier university with an excellent academic record. Quantitative undergraduate degrees, and advanced degrees such as an MBA are preferred
    • 5+ years of executive level experience in reputable companies from which you have outstanding records of professional achievement. You should have at least one experience that required highly independent work in an exceedingly challenging environment such as in management consulting, finance or in a start-up
    • Excellent project management skills including being incredibly organised with calendars, gantt charts, trackers, and have the ability to systematically follow up and support senior leaders with their deliverables across a broad set of projects/strategic initiatives

    About the Role

    • The Director, Schools is responsible for the performance management of every school in the territory. This includes school management, academic programming, school programming, staff professional development, regulatory compliance, commercial sustainability, and parent and community engagement in every school we support.
    • You have incredible responsibility for the integrated delivery of all our programming in each school, for each teacher, and for each child.
