    Senior Backend Developer

    Role Overview

    • Our Engineering team needs a Senior Backend Engineer with experience in the payment space to work with our team and help build our vision for the future. We are looking for someone with excellent programming skills and or a passion for developing applications and improving existing ones with an obsession for shipping out quality code.
    • Our core stack is with Javascript (and Typescript), Express, Node.js, MySQL, MongoDB and we expect you to have 5+ or more years of experience working with this stack.

    What You’ll Be Expected To Do At Fincra

    • Design, build, and maintain scalable software systems that power our products and infrastructure.
    • Participate in code reviews and help to guide software architecture decisions.
    • Write well-tested and documented code.
    • Propose best practices regarding code organization, design patterns, and conventions in a backend development environment.
    • Build and maintain public APIs.
    • Effectively work with a team of other backend engineers, frontend engineers as well as the good folks in Product, Design and QA.

    What We Look For In You

    • Previously worked at a fintech or a financial services firm (preferred).
    • 5+ experience working as a backend engineer.
    • Experience with Microservices and Rest architectures.
    • Experience with building Restful APIs with Node.js/Express.
    • Intermediate-level understanding of Javascript(ES6+)
    • A firm command of Typescript.
    • Experience with MongoDB database and Mongoose ORM.
    • Experience with MySQL database.
    • Experience with Unit and Integration testing (Heads up, We use Jest).
    • Knowledge of performance and security best practices.
    • Experience with writing clean, maintainable and standards-compliant code
    • Cultural and Value fit.
    • Undying passion and obsession for shipping and building applications. This drives you to initiate things and drive others, as opposed to being driven.
    • Critical thinking is something we look out for, as we would need to rely on your judgment and decision-making.
    • Technical Writing & Documentation Skills is a requirement.
    • Demonstrated ability to create order out of chaos, with minimal oversight.
    • Ability to contribute in the following areas: Product Quality, Technical Debt
    • Management & Agile Maturity.

    Head, Merchant Success


    What You’ll be Expected to do at Fincra

    • Manage and Lead Fincra’s Merchant Support Experience.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, acting as the main point of contact for customer communications.
    • Develop and maintain policies and processes that optimise the entire customer experience.
    • Manage a portfolio of merchant accounts to foster long-term relationships and ensure merchants derive tangible value from using our product.
    • Collaborate with engineers on the support team to facilitate speedy resolution of technical issues on a day-to-day basis.
    • Daily handling of customer requests and ensuring prompt resolution of customer complaints.
    • Management of all Support channels-- CRM, Slack, Emails.
    • Partner closely with the other cross-functional team members to build a tight product feedback loop between customer-facing teams and the product team 
    • Track key Merchant Success Metrics and Deploy Initiatives to Improve customer experience
    • Keep Customers abreast of all product functionalities through Development of support articles, holding of Product demonstrations, and other initiatives. 
    • Aid in product development process by providing customer insights.

    Requirements and Qualifications

    • Minimum of 10 years experience in Customer Experience/ Success in a Fintech or core technology business.
    • Ability to map the customer’s business process to product capability.
    • Experience using and managing CRM and other third-party tools to improve efficiency.
    • High level proficiency in SQL or other data analysis tools
    • Proven experience in navigating complexity. You will have worked successfully in an environment of constant change, few rules and structures, and rapidly rising expectations.
    • Creativity and execution. You come up with unique ways to solve problems by using a data-informed approach. You’re able to connect the dots and nail down root causes for problems. You don’t easily take no for an answer and are effective in translating strategic directions into action.
    • Obsessed with problem-solving, and challenges don’t scare you - you appreciate being stretched to think creatively and execute in new areas.
    • Someone who enjoys engaging a wide audience, making everyone feel heard and understood.
    • Able to communicate technical concepts to non-technical people.
