About the Job

• To lead the subsurface technical function to help meet the performance objectives and harness business improvement opportunities
• Ensure that the subsurface team has the necessary resources with appropriate skills and competencies
• To ensure that the subsurface team is effectively managed to optimize the delivery
• To establish, maintain and develop appropriate technical Standards and to ensure these are implemented.
• To ensure the timely and accurate assessment and reporting of Company`s net reserve/resource entitlements.
• To ensure effective communication between all relevant parties, including knowledge capture and transfer, identification of appropriate emerging technologies etc.
• To liaise and work closely with the other disciplines (Drilling, Engineering, Planning, Production, New Business Development especially Gas & Power, etc.) to ensure an integrated cost-effective delivery mechanism.
• To establish, maintain and develop processes in support of the functional capability, e.g. Technical Networks etc.
• To manage a fit-for-purpose Capital Value Process to ensure a rigorous and consistent approach to evaluating and progressing opportunities from discovery to production, including the coordination of annual Capital/Expense budgets, FDPs, Production forecasts, etc.
• Coordinate activities necessary to meet corporate governance requirements – functional reviews, stage gate approvals, risk management etc.
• Actively engage in reservoir and well monitoring and surveillance.
• Formulate subsurface workflow for well performance improvement and intervention.
• Prepare semi-annual and year-end reserves, complete internal technical and economic reviews within assets, and secure Corporate Reserves Group approval.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Earth Sciences
• Masters in relevant discipline an advantage
• A minimum of 20 years of E&P experience, including working on both production and development projects, and preferably with exposure to unconventional resources.
• Experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams involved in Integrated Petroleum Engineering Studies and field development, including operational aspects & Exploration projects.
• Skilled in most relevant subsurface techniques, software tools and data analysis methods (both analytical and numerical), and their application to problem-solving.
• Excellent working knowledge of dry and wet gas field development and fluid dynamics

About the Job

• Responsible for building and applying economic models, analyses and forecasts to provide guidance required for investment options and decisions that are aligned with the business plan premises.
• Responsible for using macroeconomics, matrices, techniques, industry-specific and valuation tools to evaluate upstream oil and gas assets and opportunities.
• Assist in the implementation of the Board’s aspiration, distilling the long-term strategic plan into annual Corporate and functional business plans
• Liaise with all key internal and external stakeholders to develop a business plan and budget that integrates the various business streams (Upstream, Midstream and Downstream) and the business priorities of the Company`s board.
• Lead the development and effective deployment of a business planning and budgeting process – educating and guiding the rest of the organisation on the process, tools and key milestones required for a successful planning process.
• Conduct up-to-date competitive intelligence reports as well as provide support for key commercial considerations to guide business decisions including fiscals, tax, government incentives
• Lead in the development of a 3-5-year business plan that is further integrated into short-term 90-day, 60-day and 30-day functional or business unit plans
• Create a calendar for key reporting deadlines and to monitor processes to ensure that the Company is meeting expected reporting timelines and requirements.
• Ensure Corporate compliance with all regulatory and fiduciary requirements for plans.
• Provide support in developing the Corporate Risk Management Framework ensuring all the risks from the different business streams are integrated and there is a mitigation strategy for all identified risks

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Management Finance, Economics, or any other related business field. MBA / MSC / MA is an advantage.
• 5-8 years minimum experience in strategic leadership
• Skilled in Economic Modelling
• Skilled in Business Planning and Budgeting
• Understanding and Working knowledge of the Fiscal Regime
• Understanding of market research and data analysis.
• Strong communication skills and demonstrable strategic thinking abilities.
• Good analytical skills such as performance, competitive, and market analyses to translate raw information into actionable strategies and initiatives.
