    People Partner, West Africa

    About the Role:

    • Responsible for translating business objectives into a set of strategic people initiatives and actions, which fully align with our People Strategy and contribute to business growth, profitability and high levels of employee performance engagement.
    • Also responsible for building a trusted adviser relationship with key stakeholders and developing a deep understanding of the business and its strategic objectives.
    • In addition, providing functional leadership and expertise in People processes, programs and policies.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    • Contributing to the development and execution of the business strategy by helping business leaders to identify, prioritise, and build organisational capabilities, behaviours, structures, and processes for the future
    • Conducting weekly meetings with respective business units.
    • Consulting with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
    • Analysing trends and metrics in partnership with the People Team to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
    • Managing and resolving complex employee relations issues.
    • Maintaining in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
    • Partnering with the legal department as needed/required.
    • Providing day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counselling, career development, disciplinary actions).
    • Working closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
    • Providing HR policy guidance and interpretation.
    • Providing guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning.
    • Identifying and developing the key competencies needed to support the business and ensure the appropriate training and development is available to meet the business needs.
    • Driving data-informed decisions and support in calibrating and rewarding high performance.
    • Partnering with the People Team to contribute towards our people strategy and projects, and to ensure a best-in-class experience.

    What You Will Need For This Position

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or in a related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
    • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organisational diagnosis, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
    • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Key Competencies:

    • Ability to align HR strategies with business objectives, demonstrating a deep understanding of the organization's goals and contributing to the development and execution of people-related initiatives at a country level.
    • Proven capability to collaborate effectively with leaders across various functions, fostering strong relationships and partnerships to drive a cohesive and integrated approach to people management.
    • Adeptness in navigating and appreciating the cultural nuances within the country, demonstrating sensitivity to diverse perspectives and tailoring HR practices and programs to align with local customs and values.
    • Strong knowledge of local employment laws and regulations, coupled with the ability to proactively manage HR compliance and mitigate risks, ensuring the organization operates within legal frameworks and ethical standards.
