    Stores Assistant - Port Harcourt

    Job Description
    Job Purpose:     

    • To be responsible for the receipt, processing and preparation of scrap metal
    • Prepare purchase orders, receive, store, issue goods, manage stock levels and give out supplies from the stock.

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Prepare inventories, maintain stock records, using computerized systems for entering records and is accountable for checking the supply invoices with the purchase orders.
    • Maintain record of receipts as well as issuance of items that are going out of the warehouse in order to ensure accuracy and completeness.
    • Ensure the arrangement of goods is done in an orderly manner so that the stock can be stored and retrieved easily.
    • Supervise the offloading process, the subsequent arrangement of goods and consignment so that it can be accessed and identified easily
    • Ensure correct and timely valuation of the inventory and manage procedures related to offloading, packing and unpacking
    • Prepare weekly reports of all the activities in the warehouse like the consignment received, the quantity of items received, point of collection and dispatch, stacking number, outstanding balance.
    • Responsible for stock rotation and coordinate the disposal of surpluses
    • Responsible for packing, pricing, labeling, and returning supplies
    • Manage inventory/supplies and ensure they are within the established minimum and maximum levels

    Qualifications
    Experience

    • At least 3-6 years of experience in the logistics or inventory field.

    Skills / Knowledge / Competencies

    • Proven Inventory Management experience
    • Highly effective supervisory skills and techniques
    • Knowledge of warehouse software packages and MS Office proficiency
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to input, retrieve and analyze data

    • Receiving efficiency
    • Inventory to sales Ratio

    Education

    • A Bachelor's degree in Inventory Management, Accounting, Logistics or a related field.

    • MS Office
