Radiology Nurse at A Diagnostic centre

The Nurse will responsible for all aspects of nursing care in the Radiology suite and reporting any concerns to the General Manager and Clinical Manager.

He or she will also work alongside Radiologist, Cardiologists, physicians and Clinical Physiologist

Duties and Responsibilities

• Communicating with other health care members, such as Radiographers, Consultant Radiologists, Consultant Gastroenterologists, Consultant Cardiologists, trainee Specialist Registrars, portering staff and administrative staff to enable the smooth running of sessional lists.
• Ensure patients and relatives are kept informed of the investigation and its progress.
• Maintain confidentiality of information at all times.
• Receive handover of patient care from wards and completion of relevant checklists.
• Provide the handover of care post-procedurally to Ward staff and/or other Departmental staff.
• Liaising with the ward staff and Departments to ensure the smooth running of lists and continuity of care.
• Liaise with other professional groups i.e. Infection Control, Diabetic Specialist Team, Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation officer and Risk
• Management for support with specific problems or specialist information.
• To act as a facilitator and provide training needs to junior nurses, student nurses and radiographic health care assistants.
• To take responsibility for the nursing activity required in the assigned area of work reporting any problems to the Deputies or Lead Radiographer.
• Advising wards on the correct post-procedural care and the need for medical review or risk assessments review following a change in patients’ condition or limitations in patient’s level of independence in the immediate recovery period following IR interventions.

Qualification

BSC in Nursing with 3-5 years’ experience in Radio-Diagnostic centre
