Account Payable Officer at Eko Maintenance Limited

JOB LOCATION: VICTORIA ISLAND, LAGOS

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Keep track of all payments and expenditures, including payroll, purchase orders, invoices, statements, etc.
• Flag and clarify any unusual or questionable invoice items or prices
• Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances as well as supplier statement reconciliations, credit card reconciliations and more
• Set invoices up for payment
• Track expenses and process expense reports
• Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments
• Post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records
• Prepare analyses of accounts and producing monthly reports
• Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
• Pay vendors by scheduling pay checks and ensuring payment is received for outstanding credit; generally responding to all vendor enquiries regarding finance
• Maintain confidentiality of organizational information
• Maintain petty cash accounts and log all outgoing disbursements
• Responsible for paying all sales tax on appropriate invoices and making a note of each tax payment made
• Keep track of credits owed to the company and ensure all credits are properly applied to vendor payments

QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENT

• 2-3 years accounts payable or general accounting experience
• Knowledge of relevant accounting software (such as Sage, FreshBooks, QuickBooks)
• Proficient in data entry and management
• Any Account certification is an added advantage
• HND/BSc in Accounting
