    Accountant

    Job objectives:

    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant to oversee our financial operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial transactions. The successful candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, a thorough understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to produce and present insightful financial reports and forecasts. Experience in managing or collaborating with a team of Accountants is essential.

    Principal Duties / Responsibilities 

    Financial Operations and Reporting:

    • Perform reconciliation of account balances and bank statements.
    • Maintain and update the general ledger.
    • Prepare accurate month-end and year-end close procedures.
    • Produce error-free accounting reports and present financial results to management.

    Financial Analysis and Strategy:

    • Analyze financial information to summarize financial status and forecast future financial trends.
    • Identify discrepancies, suggest improvements, and implement changes to improve financial efficiency and reduce costs.
    • Support the finance management team with ad-hoc projects and strategic financial planning.

    Technical Support and Compliance:

    • Provide technical support and advice to the Management Accountant and other finance team members.
    • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant regulatory requirements.

    Team Management and Collaboration:

    • Supervise and manage accounting assistants and bookkeepers.
    • Participate in the hiring, training, and development of accounting staff.
    • Plan, assign, and review the work of the accounting team to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

    Audit and Taxation:

    • Assist with the preparation for internal and external audits and serve as a key point of contact for auditors.
    • Prepare and file tax returns and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
    • Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with financial and regulatory standards.

    Process Improvement and Documentation:

    • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
    • Support the continuous improvement of financial processes and systems.
    • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all financial transactions and processes.

    Job Requirements

    • Proven 2-3 years of experience as an Accountant in a similar role.
    • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles.
    • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and awareness of business trends.
    • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
    • Proficiency with accounting software packages and advanced MS Excel skills, including Vlookups and pivot tables.
    • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Strong aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field.
    • Relevant certification (ICAN) is preferred.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
