    Accounts Officer

    Job Overview

    In this role, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the financial health of our business. You'll be responsible for a range of accounting tasks, working closely with various departments to maintain accurate financial records and contribute to the company's success. You will be responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records. 

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Financial Reporting: Prepare and examine financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with generally accepted accounting standards such as GAAP and IFRS .
    • General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded.
    • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, analyzing variances, and providing insights for decision-making.
    • Audit and Assurance: Coordinate and support external audits, ensuring timely and accurate submission of required documentation.
    • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage the accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payment of invoices and collection of receivables.
    • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on financial regulations and ensure the company’s compliance with financial laws and guidelines.
    • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and operations.
    • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support business objectives.
    • Any other duties as may be assigned by the Operations Lead.

    Qualifications

    •  Strong attention to detail. 
    • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles (debits, credits, double-entry bookkeeping).
    •  Minimum 3 years of experience in an accounts payable/receivable or bookkeeping role.
    • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Strong work ethic and commitment to quality
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Excellent organizational skills and time management
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Sheets.
