    Electrical and Instrumentation Technician

    Overview

    • The Electrical and Instrument Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation systems within a designated facility.
    • This role requires a strong understanding of electrical principles, instrumentation devices, and safety protocols.

    Responsibilities

    Site Inspection and Audit

    • Conduct a thorough visual inspection of the site, equipment, and facilities.
    • Check for compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality control procedures.
    • Evaluate the quality of workmanship and adherence to specifications.
    • Note any deviations from standards or requirements.
    • Gather data, measurements, and evidence to support findings and generate report.

    Maintenance:

    • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on electrical and instrumentation equipment.
    • Replace faulty components and parts.
    • Calibrate instruments to ensure accuracy.

    Troubleshooting:

    • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation problems.
    • Identify root causes of equipment failures.
    • Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

    Installation:

    • Install new electrical and instrumentation equipment.
    • Configure and test equipment to meet operational requirements.

    Safety:

    • Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
    • Use proper safety equipment and practices.
    • Report any safety hazards or concerns.

    Documentation:

    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
    • Prepare reports on equipment performance and status as well as weekly reports of operations/ Tasks.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • Ordinary National Diploma in electrical or instrumentation technology is preferred.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as an electrical and instrument technician.

    Skills:

    • Strong understanding of electrical principles, circuits, and components.
    • Knowledge of the working principles of various instrumentation devices (e.g., pressure gauges, flow meters, temperature sensors).
    • Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment (e.g., multi-meters, Energy analyzers).
    • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.
    • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

    Additional Requirements

    • Physical Demands:
    • Ability to lift, carry, and install heavy equipment.
    • Must be able to work in various environments, including confined spaces and outdoor conditions.
    • Must be able to work with minimum or no supervision
