    Entertainment and Lifestyle Editor

    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    • Oversee editorial planning and strategy execution for the entertainment and lifestyle categories.
    • Ensure quality control of all published content in the entertainment and lifestyle categories, and ensure stories are reflective of our editorial guidelines and journalistic best practice, ethics and standards at all times.
    • Work closely with the Editor-in-Chief in making editorial decisions, conceiving story ideas, and giving recommendations on story direction for the entertainment and lifestyle categories.
    • Create long-term editorial calendars that detail articles, features, and editorials. Content should be original in a variety of impactful and engaging formats that show a good understanding of our audience, clients, and competitive positioning.
    • Conduct interviews and write feature articles that position the brand as engaging and innovative.
    • Manage a team of writers to deliver on engaging content for the editorial team.
    • Promote a work environment of continuous improvement by managing team learning sessions and facilitating knowledge sharing on an ongoing basis.
    • Represent Pulse at industry events, be a spokesperson for the brand and always explore opportunities to promote our brand image.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in journalism, or any related field.
    • Minimum of two years experience as an editor in a newsroom or in a similar role.
    • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
    • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
