About the job

As a Full Stack Developer, you will be expected to:

• Participate in, and occasionally spearhead key routines/rituals in the scrum process with the rest of the development team
• Manage your time (in conjunction with your team lead)
• Aid less experienced members of the development team in clearing bugs and blockers (if necessary).
• Review pull requests and approve the merging of pull requests to deploy into environments
• Work closely with product managers and team lead to scope out work fully and understand requirements
• Setup UI, Unit, Integration & E2E tests to ensure quality assurance (QA)
• Setup CI/CD pipelines for various applications and environments (potentially) using more than one CI/CD tool
• Lead knowledge sharing sessions for the development team, and occasionally for other teams within tech.
• Research and estimate the amount of time and effort a particular task/epic might take to help the business make an informed decision on what to do with said task/epic.

Requirements

This role is a Mid ➝ Senior level role that requires at least 4 years of experience in:

• Infrastructure management (via Infrastructure as Code Tools)
• Software Development
• 2nd Line Tech Support
• Success consistently managing 3 or more AWS services over a 1 year + period
• Successful understanding and implementation of Agile methodologies in real world/work scenarios.
• Experience building, maintaining and deploying web and server side applications
• Demonstrate Significant contribution to two or more successful tech team(s) and/or project(s)
• An ability to setup, modify or extend CI/CD pipelines with one or more CI providers
• Quickly learn and pickup new programming languages and/or frameworks
• A habit of writing code as documentation
• A proven habit and preference for test-driven development
• A good understanding of software design principles and design patterns
• Proven experience with at least one infrastructure as code tool
• Collaboration on one or more open source projects
• Experience building, maintaining and deploying mobile applications on either or both of iOS & Android platforms
• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner at any level
• An ability to step up and lead a team if the situation demands it

Tech Stack (Skills & Technologies Required)

• Experience as a developer in one or more established companies for a total of 4 or more years
• Experience building personal and professional projects in over 5 languages, frameworks and/or libraries
• Experience building both front end and backend applications
• Well versed in Agile methodologies as a participant.
• Bias to contribute to and (sometimes) drive discussions
• Put importance on the "boring" aspects of software development like documentation, which is key for long term growth and best practice
• Experience with automation within a software development context
• Ability to work remote with minimal supervision to accomplish tasks on time
• You take initiative and arent endlessly waiting for someone to tell you what to do
