About the job

• As Head of Finance you will own all financial tasks in our fast growing Nigerian business.
• You will take the lead on Internal and External reporting, identifying opportunities for improving financial processes and controls, managing relationships with suppliers including auditors, banks and PSPs and management of the finance team.
• The role will be part of the leadership team in the Lagos office.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day to day finance from transactional finance to high level financial reporting and analysis
• Responsible for PSP reconciliations in the absence of team members
• Manage the relationships with key suppliers including auditors, banks and PSPs
• Proactively manage all shareholder and board reporting including but not limited to provision of quarterly board reports with supporting detail and replying to other ad hoc information requests from shareholders and directors
• Responsible for accurate delivery of all month end processes
• Lead on management and financial reporting, including statutory reporting and regulatory filings for the group
• Support the business with cost management and risk management
• Responsible for successful annual audit of company and timely filing of tax return and audited financial statements.
• Responsible for working capital management and management of cashflow forecasts
• Understanding and application of transfer pricing
• Responsible for VAT and withholding tax reporting and compliance
• Manage a small team, overseeing their work and development
• Adopt continuous improvement methods to ensure business systems are as efficient as possible
• Working as part of the leadership team to support culture and promote values
• Additional project work, analysis and process improvement to support the wider team and business

Skills, Knowledge And Experience

• The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with significant experience operating at a senior finance level
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management abilities are essential
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, supportive environment
• High levels of professional and personal integrity
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail, ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
• Proven experience of adding value through implementing new processes, systems and controls, reporting and analysis to contribute to business planning and decision making
• Gravitas to manage and challenge senior stakeholders
• Commercial acumen to provide vision and strategy across the business
• Experienced and caring team lead who is invested in the development of team members
• Experience with online gaming finances would be advantageous
