    Health Play Associate

    We are seeking a individuals who are passionate about children and health to provide social and psychological support to children in healthcare settings using play and art based techniques. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing play interventions that cater to the physical, emotional, and developmental needs of our young patients. This role requires a blend of leadership, compassion, and organizational skills to ensure that the playroom remains a safe and enjoyable space for children to heal and grow.

     Child Safeguarding:

    As an organization dedicated to protecting the well-being of children, we expect all employees to share this commitment. As part of our team, you will be responsible for: 

    • Ensuring the safety and well-being of children in our programs and activities
    • Adhering to our Child Safeguarding Policy and reporting any concerns or incidents
    • Participating in training and awareness programs to recognize and respond to child safeguarding issues
    • Maintaining appropriate boundaries and relationships with children and young people
    • Contributing to a culture of transparency, accountability, and zero tolerance for child abuse and exploitation

    Responsibilities:

    • Plan and oversee daily activities and programs in the hospital playroom
    • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to incorporate play interventions into the treatment plans of pediatric patients.
    • Assess the individual needs and preferences of children to tailor activities and interventions accordingly.
    • Train and supervise volunteers and playroom staff to ensure adherence to safety protocols and best practices in child-centered care.
    • Maintain a welcoming and clean playroom environment that complies with infection control standards.
    • Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, families, and hospital staff to promote a supportive and collaborative atmosphere.
    • Keep accurate records of playroom activities, including attendance, feedback, and outcomes.

    Qualifications:

    • Degree in Social work, Ocupational Therapy, Psychology, Nursing, or related field.
    • Previous experience working with children in a healthcare or educational setting.
    • Strong understanding of child development and the therapeutic benefits of play.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with children of diverse ages and backgrounds.
    • Demonstrated creativity and resourcefulness in designing and implementing engaging play activities.
    • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
    • Interest in play therapy specialization.
