Planning Engineer (Operations) - Specialization (Reliability) at Vagan Oil & Gas Limited

Work Experience

• Minimum of 10 years in a core engineering discipline and 3 years of proven work experience in failure modes and effect analysis, failure investigations using RCAs, 5Ys and Causal learning investigation, Proactive
• Technical Monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Technology Platforms (Added advantage)
• Proficient in Data analysis using Excel, PowerBI or related software tools (Python etc)

Professional Certifications

• Valid/Active Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) membership ismandatory
• Valid/Active Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) membership is mandatory
• Data entry, data analysis, and Microsoft Excel proficiency.

Technical/Leadership Skills

Purpose:

• Precise data extraction from various sources including daily production reports, Energy Component and Plant Information
• Reliability improvement system implementation and data analysis

Dimensions:

• Onshore and Offshore Production Assets
• Driving standard work processes and engaging with frontline leaders and supervisors for prioritization of threats, problem solving and executing agreed actions

Principal Accountabilities:

• Deliver Reliability engineering work process-related training and ensure updated asset process documentations.
• Support the Site Process Focal point to conduct work process effectiveness reviews.
• Champion the MTO work process by communicating its performance, global updates, accomplishments, and challenges.
• Monitor the MTO work process performance and process tool use across the asset.
• Know how to implement the MTO work process within the asset to deliver the business result
• Interface and assist the Site Process Focal Point of relevant and interfacing processes.
• Participating in audits, health-checks, task teams and networks to improve global process performance.
• Support principal assets and SPDC OU to pinpoint the root causes of underperformance using causal learning.
• Support and upskill Reliability team (and others) in use of Power BI for data analysis.

Soft skills required

• Strong attention to detail and an understanding of causes of underperformance in the Production unit
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Problem-solving abilities to address challenges in PU performance across flares, trips and deferments.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data and present actionable insights.
