    Program Manager

    Position Overview

    The Program Manager will play a crucial role in the strategic planning and implementation of our programmes and initiatives. This leadership position requires a dynamic and results-oriented individual who can manage multiple programs, coordinate with stakeholders, and drive the organization’s mission forward.

    Key Responsibilities

    Program Development and Management:

    • Develop and oversee the implementation of all programs in alignment with the organization’s mission and strategic goals.
    • Ensure programs are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
    • Monitor and evaluate program performance to ensure continuous improvement.

    Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with public and private sector stakeholders.
    • Represent the organization in meetings, conferences, and public forums.
    • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among stakeholders.

    Team Leadership:

    • Lead, mentor, and manage program staff, fostering a positive and productive team environment.
    • Provide guidance and support to ensure staff achieve their professional goals and the organization’s objectives.

    Resource Management:

    • Identify funding opportunities and assist in the preparation of grant proposals.
    • Manage program budgets and ensure financial accountability.
    • Coordinate with finance and administrative staff to optimize resource utilization.
    • Develop and implement effective fundraising strategies to support program activities.
    • Organize fundraising events and campaigns to secure financial support.

    Strategic Planning:

    • Contribute to the development of the organization’s strategic plan.
    • Identify new opportunities and areas for program expansion.
    • Develop innovative approaches to address governance challenges in Cross River State.

    Qualifications

    Education: 

    • A Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Development Studies, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.

    Experience: 

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, preferably within an NGO or community development setting.
    • Proven track record of successfully managing multiple programs and leading diverse teams.
    • A track record of successfully raising funds for programs will be an added advantage.

    Skills: 

    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
    • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.

    Personal Attributes:

    • Passionate about community development and governance improvement.
    • Innovative thinker with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • High level of integrity and commitment to the organization’s mission.

    Location Requirement:

    Candidates must be based in Calabar, Cross River State.
