    Security Assistant – Monitoring and Accountability (M&A)

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Security Assistant will support the Security Manager in implementing and maintaining effective security measures to protect the organization's assets, staff, and operations. The role involves monitoring security situations, conducting risk assessments, and assisting in the development and execution of security protocols.

    Security, Monitoring and Reporting:

    • Maintain detailed logs and records of security incidents.
    • Assist in the preparation of regular security reports for the Security Manager.

    Risk Assessment and Management:

    • Conduct regular security risk assessments for various locations.
    • Identify vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
    • Assist in the implementation of risk management strategies.

    Emergency Response:

    • Assist in developing and updating emergency response plans.
    • Respond promptly to security incidents and emergencies, providing support and coordination as directed by the Security Manager.

    Policy and Implementation Procedures:

    • Support the dissemination and enforcement of security policies and procedures.
    • Ensure that all staff are aware of and comply with security guidelines.
    • Assist in the development and revision of security protocols.

    Liaison and Coordination:

    • Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as necessary.
    • Coordinate with other departments to ensure integrated security efforts.
    • Participate in security meetings and briefings.

    Training and Awareness:

    • Assist in organizing and conducting security training sessions for staff.
    • Promote security awareness and best practices among employees.
    • Distribute security alerts and advisories as needed.

    Administrative Support:

    • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of security equipment and supplies.
    • Assist in budgeting and procurement processes for security-related expenses.
    • Provide administrative support to the Security Manager as required.

    Requirements

    • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in security management or related field is preferred.
    • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a security role, preferably within a humanitarian setting.

    Skills:

    • Strong observational and analytical skills.
    • Proficiency in using security systems and software.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies.
    • Knowledge of local security issues and trends in the region.

    • Attention to Detail: Ability to notice and report anomalies and potential security threats.
    • Problem-Solving: Capacity to assess situations quickly and develop effective solutions.

    Working Conditions:

    • The position may require working outside regular office hours, including nights and weekends.
    • Travel within the state may be necessary to conduct assessments and respond to incidents.
