    Senior Construction Coordinator (Offshore)

    Role Description

    • The ideal candidate should be able to provide effective onsite leadership as third-party Company Representative on offshore oil & gas projects. Demonstrate having been a Safety champion, who ensured that the work team followed written work execution procedure, fulfilled safety program, which include the entrenchment of operational discipline, incident and injury free, and globally recognized safety cultures, practices, and values.
    • This role is for 28/28 work rotation. Successful candidate will be based at COMPANY facilities in a camp environment, but frequently travel to COMPANY offshore facilities in Niger Delta.
    • Contribute to development of work execution plans, detailed step by step procedures, inspection test plans and review such plans when provided by Company contractors executing work to ensure they meet Company QA/QC and Safety requirements.
    • Monitor progress of work and adjust as necessary to stay on schedule. Provide daily job reports for ongoing projects.
    • Supervise Company in-house construction craft work teams performing work on Company oil & gas production facilities. Will be required to be at offshore facilities working with in-house personnel.
    • Candidate must be able to provide oversight for a multi-disciplinary team of construction crews on routine and emergency maintenance actions in the oil and gas sector.
    • Ensure contractor complies with contract Specifications. Maintain proper records to mitigate claims against COMPANY during project execution.
    • Mentor and support all Inspectors and ensure that they understand the Contract Documents applicable to their projects, understand the drawings, ensure drawings are approved for construction and latest revisions and specifications are provided.
    • Provide construction technical support to project engineers, construction engineers, and Supervisors. Supports the implementation of COMPANY QA/QC Manual.
    • Visit sites on a regular basis to promote the ideals of psychological safety and encourage the use of Stop Work Authority (SWA) and other similar intervention approaches to address unsafe, abnormal, or changing site conditions. Furthermore, candidate must emphasize the need for compliance and the consequences of non-compliance.
    • Ensure appropriate qualification of and utilization of pre-qualified welding procedures and qualification of welders in line with globally acceptable standards.
    • Review completed work to ensure it meets all Company QA/QC manual requirements.
    • Schedule tasks to optimize resources and equipment utilization and minimize downtime or lost production opportunity. Influence Contractor personnel to plan work with minimal disruption to Company operations.
    • Periodically review and advise on manpower, tool, and equipment resource requirements at field locations.
    • Ensure as-built documentation & QA/QC package for completed projects are submitted and review the QA/QC package for completeness.
    • Candidate must demonstrate capacity to effectively participate in and/or preside over bid walks/meetings and kick off meetings. Furthermore, candidate must be able to contribute to Contractor Technical Bid Evaluation process.

    Qualifications

    • Education: Minimum of HND in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or related discipline.
    • Experience: 15 years of experience in offshore construction in oil & gas industry.
    • Candidate must have practical onsite experience with offshore pipelay & structures installation, brownfield modifications, asset inspections and retirement plans, wellhead piping hook up etc.
    • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in leading a team of construction tradesmen, excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
    • Certifications: Relevant certifications in offshore construction engineering and work packs execution may be required. BOSIET and OSP. Driving License is optional.
