    Team Lead, Investment Research

    About the job

    • We are searching for an Experience investment researcher to lead the team and evaluate and research trends and opportunities for our firm.
    • In this role, the team Lead will lead the Investment team to perform research, valuations, and appraisals of financial instruments, markets, and businesses and interact with other team members to deliver quality investment reports to our clients and businesses. 

    Responsibilities

    • Examine and assess economic and market trends, earnings prospects, financial statements and various other indicators and factors to determine suitable investment strategies. 
    • Produce complex financial models for integration into decision-making processes. 
    • Compile financial data into reports for other team members and stakeholders. 
    • Develop complex financial models. 
    • Assess business and asset valuations. 
    • Execute fundamental equity research on companies. 
    • Generate investment recommendations for our clients. 
    • Develop industry report for our businesses and clients. 
    • Identify critical areas of business performance for other stakeholders. 
    • Liaise with head of Strategic Business Units to identify potential business opportunities in their respective industry. 
    • Monitor closely financial press and keep a track of market trends, opportunities, risks and new opportunities. 
    • Attend conferences and networking events to gain more knowledge about the market. 
    • Provide analysis for new products/services offered by the group. 

    Qualifications

    • Education: Applicants must have a minimum of bachelor’s degree in Finance, 
    • Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or any other relevant fields. 
    • Certification: Advanced degree or relevant certifications will be an added advantage.
    • Knowledge: Applicants must have proven working experience (minimum of three years) as an Investment Research Analyst. The candidate must possess a strong financial background with knowledge of financial modeling, and the ability to dissect financial reports and perform valuation. 
    • Critical thinking skills: Candidates are required to have idea generation and thought leadership abilities. They should have the capacity to synthesize data as well as apply logic and reasoning to decipher the strength and weakness of a problem and generate new investment ideas or recommend investment decisions. 
    • Interpersonal skills: Applicants are also expected to possess strong interpersonal skills for establishing and developing relationships with multiple stakeholders, including senior management of assigned companies, team members, and other internal and external professionals. 
    • Attention to detail: Applicants must have high attention to detail to ensure consistent accuracy in all work documents and data used to arrive at a valid conclusion. 
    • Teamwork abilities: Applicants should possess ability to work in a team-oriented environment for effective collaboration. 
    • Strong communication skills: It is essential that applicants possess exceptional reading,  writing, and oral communication skills necessary for them to read detailed work documents, author thought-provoking differentiated research; write objective reports  and verbally communicate information clearly and effectively to others. 
    • Quantitative skills: It is also vital that they are highly numerate individuals with the capability to work with large data to derive fact-based insights. 
    • Computer skills: They must possess advanced computer skills, especially proficiency in 
    • Excel, with financial modeling experience, PowerPoint and Word. In addition,  proficiency in Bloomberg Terminal, Power BI, SQL and any other relevant data analytic  packages will be an added advantage.
