    Clinical Supervisor

    Number of Openings: 4 (2 per LGA)

    Location: Madagali and Yola South – Adamawa State

    Employment Type: Contract

    Contract Duration: 6 Months

    Job Summary

    This position will be responsible for the Coordination of health services through the provision of clinical services in facilities and in the field (Mobile Services). The Clinical Supervisor directs and manages an effective clinical service delivery team using applicable principles of Social Work and/or Counseling which include - patient psychosocial assessment, group and individual psychotherapy, family intervention, patient/family education and treatment planning. Setting goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with project goal. Organizing workflow and ensuring field staff understand their duties or delegated tasks. Monitoring field staff productivity and providing constructive feedback and coaching. He/She reports to Health Coordinator.

    Main Duties & Responsibilities

    • Shall report to the LGA Team Lead
    • Supervise health workers and volunteers (CHEWs, JCHEWs and CHVs)
    • Mobilize and coordinate facility and field health volunteers during service delivery at facility level and mobile outreaches
    • Develop and implement community outreach plans to increase awareness in target communities or locations
    • Maintain and Keep accurate records of activities, meetings and submit same to Team lead on weekly or as may be required
    • Undertake/lead advocacy and build good relationships with the community
    • Coordinate and ensure seamless referral services to appropriate quarters or service locations 
    • Identify and report challenges and successes to the project management team
    • Provide mentorship, guide and training to health colleagues  volunteers as
    • Ensure compliance with project guidelines and standards
    • Supervise drugs stock management in mobile clinics and facilities.
    • Act as focal point for liaison with community leaders and representatives in facilities
    • Share regular, timely updates to Team Lead.
    • Monitor the drugs consumption by establishing/maintaining mechanisms of consumption record and inform the Team Lead in case of any unusual usage, or stock shortages
    • Identify and rectify gaps or weaknesses in medical activities by using monitoring and supervision tools
    • Ensure rapid communication of suspect communicable disease
    • Supervises the team to ensure high quality service delivery in the community according to the current National guideline.
    • Support monthly community level review meetings

    Management:

    • Reporting and attendance to different meetings
    • Operational Management of Clinic team.
    • Manage supervise and activities of all field support staffs ensuring presence, accountability, reporting, data collection and submission.
    • Updating team on any development from LESGO Office
    • Report any issue relating to misconduct to Coordinator or HR team.
    • Daily supervision of CHEWs, JCHEWs and CHVs
    • Tracking activities of team members.
    • Ensure time sheet, attendance are filled and signed daily and monthly
    • Organize the weekly schedule of the Clinic team to ensure the smooth running of the activities
    • Ensure that field staff respect their assigned tasks
    • Provide strong leadership to ensure Clinic staff understand and work according to LESGO principles.
    • Prepare weekly activities report to submit to the Team Lead

    Position Requirements

    • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nursing, Community Health or any other health related field
    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Excellent leadership and coordination spirit
    • Fluent in English and local language (Hausa)
    • Experience working with NGO
    • At least 2-3 years’ experience in coordinating, implementing and managing primary and secondary health programs
    • Ability to Travel as the need arise
    • Treat beneficiaries with dignity and apply UNICEF Code of Ethics and Conduct, the UN Convention for the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) in the field.
    • Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse
    • Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within LESGO) and amongst beneficiaries served by LESGO

    Health Coordinator

     Job Summary

    The Health Coordinator will coordinate all health activities on the project to ensure effective, efficient and timely delivery of planned activities on the project. This project employs a health system strengthening approach to provide a high-quality primary health care service to assist affected populations while using antimicrobials rationally for LESGO Adamawa State project intervention. He/she will be responsible for supervising health staff on the project and will carry out implementation, monitoring, support with the overall capacity building of health program staff, and progress reporting of projects.

    Main Duties & Responsibilities

    •  Shall report to the Project/Program Manager
    • Coordinates activity of LGA Team Leads and ensure high quality and timely delivery of all health related objectives
    • Support consultation on need basis, especially when on the field.
    • Ensure that the activities are implemented and are responsive to communities, partners, and in line with humanitarian principles, values and strategic plan and procedures
    • Provide technical support to subordinates  and provide the necessary mentoring and trainings as needed to strengthen  their capacity so as to enable them perform their tasks optimally
    • Prepare project and donor reports in a timely manner and in compliance with internal and external requirements with approval of the project/Program Manager.
    • Ensure that program interventions continue to be informed by and integrated with other core sectors (Protection & WASH)
    • In collaboration  with MEAL unit develop tools for the effective data gathering and reporting
    • Oversees all technical activities of field staff, working closely with Clinical Supervisors and Team Leads
    • Coordinates with Clinical Supervisors and Team Leads in gathering field reports.
    • Approves clearance of field staff for monthly stipends
    • In collaboration with the MEAL officer, monitor program objectives, outputs, indicators, and activities – ensuring team remains on track as per donor requirement
    • Work with MEAL team to ensure appropriate, timely and accurate data collection against agreed indicators to enable both internal and external reporting
    • Represent and participate in relevant Health working groups, sector meetings and any other relevant forums

    Position Requirements

The position holder is expected to have sound experience and knowledge on WASH and construction supervision of rural water supply and sanitation facilities. The positions involve construction works, training, monitoring with frequent trips to the project sites and supervise all physical works construction in the targeted community sites. The WASH Coordinator will also support the overall capacity building of local staff and stakeholders in WASH. The person will plan and implement WASH projects, foster internal and external networks with stakeholders and donors and provides technical support for developing funding proposals. The WASH Coordinator manages, leads, and provides direction to the WASH team in line with LESGO priorities. S/he is expected to liaise with communities, local authorities, and other agencies regularly to ensure coordination and effective implementation activities and participate in meetings regarding WASH. The coordinator will also ensure project monitoring, regular reviews, preparation of funders reports and capturing learnings when necessary.

     Job Responsibilities:

    • Manage the assigned WASH project(s) to meet the project objectives within budget and allot time frame.
    • Provide strong leadership to ensure both short & long-term positive impacts and outcomes for the beneficiaries, local authorities, and local WASH staff.
    • Develop and implement an appropriate and effective WASH strategy, setting clear objectives and indicators, for WASH activities in consultation with other WASH staff and where appropriate, with the local communities.
    • Continuously monitor and supervise WASH activities, overseeing the technical design, execution, and evaluation of progress through outputs and impacts using both quantitative and qualitative data.
    • Provide input into the integration of beneficiary participation and accountability in all aspects of the project.
    • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of activities according to donor and other applicable timeframes and formats.
    • Facilitate regular staff meetings to ensure awareness of project objectives, and opportunity for feedback.
    • Participate in WASH coordination meetings and other working groups, representing LESGO and feeding back to the WASH staff on relevant issues.
    • Develop work plans in line with financial pipelines.
    • Ensure that technical quality and standards are considered during project implementation WASH activities design, follow up and evaluation.
    • Implement all program activities, as member of a team, such as hand dug wells with alternative energy sources, boreholes rehabilitation, open ponds, new water scheme development, pit latrines, placental pits, incinerators, and other WASH infrastructures.
    • Work closely with program support functions (logistics and finance departments) for WASH program supplies and activities planning.
    • Checking the quality of materials and workmanship for conformity with the requirements of the contract and provide site instructions as required
    • Approving of the contractor’s work to proceed from one stage to another.
    • Taking responsibilities for the construction work and administration of the contract.
    • Responsible for overall monthly, weekly planning of project activities and writing technical part of the project reports.
    • Organize and lead project coordination meetings.
    • Ensure a positive working environment and good team dynamics (solve out potential conflicts and create good team sprit)

    Qualification And Experience Required:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Water Engineering, Public Health, Nursing, Sanitary science, International Development or other relevant field of study
    • At least 4 years of relevant work experience in program design and implementation in an NGO environment.
    • Proven knowledge and experience in developing and implementing community mobilization projects, standards and guidelines for WASH programming and coordination.
    • Familiarity with humanitarian operations, coordination structures, and the mandates of donors, UN agencies, and other NGOs.

    Job Summary

    The Team Lead will be responsible for maintaining regular contact with clinical supervisors and LGA authorities

    Main Duties & Responsibilities

    • Shall report to the Coordinator
    • Coordinates and supervises activities of Clinical Supervisors
    • Counsel and referring advanced issues to Health Coordinator
    • Work with the MEAL Officer to Monitor and Evaluate the effectiveness of facility and outreaches, making recommendations for improvement as needed
    • Provide overall managerial oversight for implementation of the health program activities in the target LGA;

    • Make regular field visits to monitor project implementation and provide on spot support to volunteers and propose modifications as necessary
    • Conduct performance reviews and clearance of Clinical Supervisors for monthly stipends and forwards same to Coordinator

    Coordination & Representation:

    • In consultations with the Health Coordinator actively develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders (government actors, local NGOs, and other relevant actors);

    Qualifications
