    Business Development Officer

    We are looking for enthusiastic and diligent team members who will join our team with a focus on growing our customer base in Nigeria. The candidate should have experience in sales and customer acquisition, lead generation, converting sales, and working collaboratively with other members of the sales team. Reps should enjoy a fast-paced working environment, love working with and interacting with customers, and contributing to creating a vibrant customer support culture at Maisha Meds. You should be a strong communicator, and driven to innovate new solutions on the go. 

    Responsibilities

    • Adeptly plan and organise yourself and your selling activities daily and weekly
    • Map facilities, conduct regular outreach, and foster a network for referrals to generate leads
    • Present, promote and sell our software and the corresponding hardware using a question-led, active listening approach to selling
    • Expertly master our product knowledge to accurately inform and educate prospective customers
    • Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule
    • Coordinate sales effort with team members and other departments
    • On our CRM, HubSpot, regularly track your activities, deals and pipeline
    • Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and customer relationships

    Qualifications

    • Degree (minimum) in business, customer service, pharmacy business or other related fields
    • Tech conversant and ability to quickly learn and become a proficient user of both our app and internal tools.
    • Active listening skills..an ability to listen to customers when selling to understand their challenges and how we help solve them
    • Experience with sales processes and CRM systems a plus
    • Excited and energetic to work tirelessly on acquiring customers

    Senior Software Engineer (Android)

    We're looking for an engineer (preferably experienced in Ruby on Rails and React) to collaborate with our tech team, lead development for new and exciting features.

    The ideal candidate has:

    • 5+ years of building quality applications
    • A history of writing clean and well-documented code with automated tests
    • Experience integrating with REST APIs
    • Ability to scope large, abstract problems to small, concrete tasks
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with a culturally diverse team (we're a mix of Kenyans and international team members)
    • Experience building systems for environments with limited or intermittent Internet connectivity is a plus

    Engineering Manager

    As an engineering manager at Maisha Meds, you will be responsible for:

    People and Team

    • Manage a remote team of 2-6 creative engineers spanning across several projects
    • Foster a welcoming friendly and culture 
    • Grow and mentor engineers and help them pursue their career interests
    • Provide good feedback for performance management and coaching
    • Recruiting and hiring for your team when necessary

    Technical Leadership

    • Provide hands-on technical leadership (architecture and design, code reviews, and incident management) to your reports
    • Independently contribute to projects 10% of your time to gain a deep technical understand of the infrastructure end-to-end
    • Preferred prior experience with Ruby on Rails or Android Kotlin

    Product and Project Management

    • While we have product managers at Maisha Meds, at times, you’ll need to engage with stakeholders directly and product manage yourself
    • Translate ambiguous stakeholder desires into concrete requirements and action plans
    • Work across teams and both internal and external stakeholders to execute on projects
    • Understand customers and users and be able to provide product direction

    Director of Data Science

    As Director of Data Science at Maisha Meds, you will be responsible for:

    People and Team

    • Manage a remote team of awesome data scientists
    • Mentor individuals outside of the data team to help them improve their analytical skills

    Data Analysis

    • Manage relationships with different stakeholders ranging from external economics researchers and global health funders to internal operation teams
    • Translate ambiguous stakeholder desires into concrete requirements and action plans (in some cases by serving as a product manager for dashboard creation)
    • Create forecasts, models, and statistical analysis from unclean data sets
    • Build visualizations using BI tools such as Metabase and Redash to clearly communicate findings

    Our preferred candidate would have experience in either Data Engineering or Experiment Design and Analysis (both not required)

    Data Engineering

    • Maintain data pipeline that aggregates data from various sources to our Snowflake data warehouse
    • Keep our BI tools in good function by regularly performing upgrades and troubleshooting any outages
    • Create well-modeled data sets for easier queries and quick analysis
    • Automate the cleaning of unclean / semi-structured datasets (on rare occasions, coordinate contractors when manual data cleaning is required)
    • Control fine grained data access for internal and external users, especially for sensitive, PII data

    Experiment Design and Analysis

    • Lead A/B testing strategy, design, activation, analysis of results and recommendations to help answer questions related to subsidy programs Maisha Meds runs, healthcare behavior change, and product and growth optimization
    • Use state-of-the-art planning and targeting tools and interfaces to perform A/B and multivariate testing of various levels of complexity.
    • Deeply understand Maisha Meds objectives and partner with key stakeholders in operations, strategy, tech, and among external research partners to drive the A/B testing process and produce winning tests and actionable recommendations

    Head of Global Finance

    As Global Head of Finance at Maisha Meds, you will be responsible for:

    Operational Finances

    • Overseeing the entirety of Maisha Meds’s financial function, supporting growth and expansion, minimizing financial risks, and providing data and analytics to support strategic decision-making
    • Lead financial planning for the organization, and work with individual business unit and country heads to support their planning capacity
    • Work with CEO and Head of People on headcount and compensation budgeting and strategies
    • Oversee day-to-day finance functions including revenue recognition, accounts receivable, collections, accounts payable and financial reporting, including regulatory compliance; build next generation systems that automate day-to-day accounting functions and can scale with our pharmacy and patient growth
    • Coordinate general bookkeeping activities, preparation of tax submissions across US and African entities, preparation of accounts for external audit and review
    • Manage a small team of finance professionals within the organization, and work to build their skills and capacity to ready the team for future growth

    Risk Management

    • Developing appropriate FX hedging strategies to minimize currency exposure risk
    • Developing reserves policy and investment strategy to build financial resilience
    • Overseeing all matters pertaining to financial regulatory compliance, including liaising with tax and revenue authorities; auditors; and other relevant external parties as required

    Strategic Finance & Decision Support

    • Lead preparation of organizational financial forecasts, models, finance updates for the Board and Executive team
    • Support the CSO on ad hoc strategic finance projects including developing financial models and materials for roadshows/marketing and investor presentations
    • Support the CSO to refine long-range financial models including revenues, margins, capital and liquidity needs, which can be used for both internal and external communications on the organization’s finances
    • Lead ad hoc financial analysis projects as required from time to time by Executive team or business unit heads

    Experience Required

    • Exceptional quantitative skills and commercial judgment -- ability to synthesize operational performance into scenario analyses, and create actionable recommendations
    • Entrepreneurial spirit - must thrive in a fast-paced, results driven, rapidly changing environment, and effectively manage competing priorities
    • Flexibility, resourcefulness, and comfort with ambiguity; ability to embrace change and build structure into a less defined work environment
    • Strong prior financial modeling experience, with prior experience developing complex financial forecasts, risk analytics, valuation, financing, or corporate finance models
    • Excellent interpersonal skills - excellent at communication, building relationships and working across all levels of the company
    • Motivated to contribute to the organization’s growth and culture beyond the immediate bounds of the role, including for example engaging in staff development activities, culture initiatives, roundtables, etc. 
    • 8+ years of progressive finance experience leading a finance team at a high-growth organization of annual turnover >$5m 
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred)
    • Experience of working in organizations who have entities which operate according to US GAAP; experience of managing finances at a 501(c)(3); and experience in managing finances for organizations in receipt of funds from major donors including USAID, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
    • Prior experience in the SaaS or healthcare financing space an advantage but not prerequisite
