    Legal Officer

    Job Description

    • Monitor legislation and government regulations on an ongoing basis, to identify areas that may impact the Institute’s operations.
    • Formulate and implement legal strategies and ensure compliance with all legal and corporate governance requirements.
    • Provide legal advice by briefing staff members on legal issues, potential liabilities and possible courses of actions all within compliance with the regulatory law.
    • Ensuring compliance with statutory and legal requirements including maintenance/update of all statutory books and registers and prompt filing of statutory returns as well as support the Secretary to the Governing Council for Council and Committee meetings
    • Ensure all legal requirements and aspects of statutory compliance of the Institute are met.
    • Ensure that all corporate policies are up-to-date within the diverse areas of law, management, finance and corporate governance
    • Negotiate and advise on all contractual arrangements and agreements between the Institute and other entities to avoid or minimize loss and/or exposure to potential litigation. Oversight and handling of all cases filed by or against the Institute.
    • Monitor compliance with contractual obligations contained in the guarantees and performance bonds
    • Review personal guarantees, commercial papers and indemnities issued by the Institute to various banks.

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor of Law Degree from a recognised institution.
    • Admission to practice Law in Nigeria
    • Minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience
    • Knowledge and understanding of principles of law and procedures in Nigeria and relevant legal requirements/statutory provisions
    • Excellent negotiation skills, protocol awareness and diplomatic skills
    • Ability to advise on all contractual arrangements and agreements between the institute and other entities to avoid or minimize loss and/or exposure to potential litigation
    • Good communication skills
    • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Good interpersonal and relationship building skills

    Executive Assistant to the DG/CEO

    Job Description

    • Research, prioritize, and follow up on issues and concerns addressed to the DG/CEO including those of a sensitive or confidential nature. Determines appropriate course of action, referral or response.
    • Provides a bridge for smooth communication between the DG/CEO’s office and other departments; demonstrating ability to maintain credibility and trust with staff.
    • Follows up on contacts made by the CEO and supports the cultivation of ongoing relationships.
    • Regularly produce various content types, including email, social media posts, blogs and white papers. Collaborate with other departments as necessary to create innovative content ideas for the DG/CEO’s office.
    • Works closely and effectively with the DG/CEO to keep him well informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities and follows up appropriately. Keeps abreast of the issues taking place in the environment and keeps the DG/CEO updated.
    • Provides leadership to build relationships crucial to the success of the organization, and manages a variety of special projects for the DG/CEO, some of which may have organizational impact.
    • Prioritizes conflicting needs; handles matters expeditiously and proactively, and follows-through on projects to successful completion, often with tight deadlines.
    • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director General/CEO
    •  Facilitate meetings and relationships with external parties. Identifies andconverts new and partnerships and alliances.

    Job requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management or any other related field.
    • Post- graduate degree in any related field will be an added advantage.
    • Member of a relevant professional body e.g. NIM, etc.
    • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience with at least 3 years in leadership position and marketing or any related field
    • In-depth knowledge of industry trends and ability to identify new opportunities for the Institute
    • Well-developed leadership, coordination and organizational skills
    • Excellent Project Management and Budgeting skills
    • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional and inter-regional teams
    • Stakeholder management skills
    • Ability to think strategically and drive for results
