    Head, EHS

    Job Purpose

    • The Head, of EHS is responsible for the day-to-day organization, monitoring, developing, and the implementation of EHS guidelines and standards for all operations and projects in Nigeria.
    • Develop, Maintain, and monitor the implementation of the EHS Management System in Nigeria.
    • Create appropriate workplace culture and awareness of EHS issues across the business.
    • Generate an awareness of EHS expectations at all staff levels.
    • Develop and maintain EHS-related standards to support management in discharging their responsibilities.
    • Engage contractors, JV partners, and other companies through EHS forums.
    • Develop national staff across the EHS disciplines.
    • Report EHS performance throughout the company and externally as required.

    Responsibilities and Key Objectives

    • Ensuring that all Project EHS objectives and targets are clearly defined and communicated to project team leaders and members in Nigerian operations.
    • Setting in-depth initiatives to improve safety performance in all operations.
    • Keeping the Senior Management appraised of safety performance and recommending improvement methods.
    • Keeping appraised with the Company’s project-wide safety program.
    • Ensure that all incidents and accidents are reported, and investigated with detailed root cause analysis carried out to mitigate any future occurrences.
    • Ensuring that all lessons learned are communicated throughout the organization.
    • Conducting EHS surveys and ensuring appropriate corrective actions are taken if required.
    • Ensuring the conduct of sufficient site Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), fire drills, TBTs, permits to work, etc.
    • Conducting EHS audits and inspections at various site locations.
    • Ensuring the implementation of EHS mandates within the working practices of each site location and subcontractor facility.

    Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

    • The role of the Head, EHS requires a skilled industry practitioner with no less than 20 years experience relevant to EHS, both in a line position and EHS professional roles.
    • A tertiary qualification in an EHS discipline is desirable. Masters in a Science or Engineering degree in a reputable institution.
    • Considerable experience in health, safety, and environmental risk management in a systems or product engineering design, manufacturing and/or construction environment.
    • Considerable experience in an EHS management/supervisory position in international work environments.
    • In-depth project experienced for marine and onshore/offshore oil and gas facilities and operations.
    • Expert level in EHS Management systems, their development, implementation and external certification.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills are critical in order to influence and engage management, contractors and employee
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Must have experience working with various computer systems, windows 98, 2000, vista etc.
    • Strong management and leadership skills.
    • Working knowledge of local and international laws, regulations, codes, standards, and best industry practices for EHS (e.g., ISO, OGP, IADC, UKOOA, API, ASME, NFPA.

    Solar Sales Engineer

    Job Summary

    • Our client, a solar start up business in Nigeria is urgently recruiting for a sales engineer to drive growth and revenue.
    • As a Solar Sales Representative, you will be responsible for promoting and selling solar energy solutions to residential and commercial customers.
    • You will educate potential clients on the benefits of solar energy, assess their energy needs, and design customized solar solutions to meet those needs.
    • Your primary goal will be to increase solar adoption, contribute to sustainable energy initiatives, and drive business growth for our company.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Identify and engage with potential customers through various means, including cold calling, referrals, networking, and attending industry events
    • Develop and maintain a database of leads and effectively prioritize them for sales outreach
    • Educate customers on the advantages of solar energy, including cost savings, environmental benefits, and available incentives or rebates
    • Explain the solar installation process, system components, and financing options to potential customers
    • Visit customers' locations to evaluate their energy needs, roof suitability, and sun exposure to determine the optimal solar system size and design
    • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to create personalized solar energy proposals based on site assessments and customer preferences
    • Present proposals to customers, address their questions and concerns, and negotiate terms to secure contracts
    • Work closely with the sales team to achieve individual and team sales targets, sharing insights and best practices to enhance overall sales effectiveness
    • Assist customers in completing necessary paperwork and contracts for solar system installation, financing, and incentives
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers by providing exceptional customer service throughout the sales process and addressing any post-sale inquiries or concerns

    Requirements and Qualifications

    • Must have 3-5 years of experience
    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred
    • Proven experience in sales, preferably in solar energy, renewable energy, or a related industry
    • Familiarity with solar energy products, systems, and industry trends
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and influence potential customers
    • Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities to close deals and meet sales targets
    • Ability to understand technical aspects of solar energy systems and convey this knowledge in a clear and accessible manner to customers
    • Proficient in using CRM software and other relevant sales tools
    • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to conduct site visits and meet with customers
    • Any relevant sales certifications or licenses in the solar or renewable energy field (desired, but not mandatory)
    • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate customer schedules and achieve sales goals
    • Willingness to travel locally and internationally.

    • Focus on building and maintaining strong relationships with customers. Work closely with the sales team to ensure customer satisfaction, resolve issues, and identify opportunities for cross-selling or upselling.

    Pricing and Revenue Management:

    • Oversee pricing strategies, ensure optimal pricing for products or services to maximise revenue and maintain competitiveness in the market. Analyse market trends, conduct pricing research, and monitor pricing effectiveness.

    Market Intelligence:

    • Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and market dynamics to identify emerging opportunities and potential threats. Gather market intelligence, conduct market research, and use data-driven insights to make informed decisions.

    Cross-functional Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with various departments including finance, operations, and product development, to align commercial objectives with overall business goals. Foster cross-functional teamwork and communication to drive success.

    Qualifications and Experience
    Education and foundational experience:

    • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field such as Business, Marketing, or Economics and MBA. Having foundational experience in sales, marketing, business development, or finance to develop a solid understanding of commercial operations.
    • Industry experience (DISCO) very vital.

    Key Skills / Abilities:

    • A strong, proven commercial background
