    Social Media and Communications Intern

    SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Your responsibilities are not but limited to the following;

    • Report to and work closely with the Programme Manager of DevTrain
    • Will support program planning, design, review and review communications materials for internal and external audiences, including briefing books, employee newsletters, press releases and articles to be used on websites, social media, and newsletters.
    • The potential candidate will assist in maintaining the DevTrain’s Facebook, Twitter (X), LinkedIn and Instagram handles archive of digital images, videos, and other content.
    • The Communication and Social Media Intern will play an active role the development of DevTrain online community.
    • Consult with appropriate staff/departments on internal/external communications issues and the production of publications and presentation materials for the purpose of ensuring accurate data/information.
    • The intern will learn how to reach communities, and promote events or programs through the internet and gain experience in social media platforms and the tools used to assess their performance.

    Experiences:

    • She/he must have up to 2 years’ experience in Project Cycle Management and managing organizational resources with excellent analytical professional report writing capacity.
    • Skills related to word processing are required, and familiarity or training in electronic mail, website development, Photoshop, PowerPoint, Canva and other publishing software is preferred.
    • In-depth understanding of various social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn) and their respective best practices.
    • Knowledge of emerging trends and technologies in social media.
    • Prior experience in a communications role required with leadership experience highly desired. Excellent organizational skills and Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    Qualifications and requirements

    • This internship is open to current NYSC member and recent graduates.
    • This is a full-time paid internship (Stipends).
    • Candidates should maintain a positive attitude under pressure, exhibit a strong work ethic, and enjoy working with a wide range of personalities.
    • This internship will benefit someone who is interested in making a career in the social development or NGO sector, education and youth development

    Behaviour Competencies and IT skills:

    • Good planning and leadership qualities

    Finance Officer

    SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Your responsibilities are not but limited to the following;

    • Report to and work closely with the Finance Manager of DevTrain
    • Co-ordinated the day to day administrative and financial operations of the office, including procurement management
    • Prepared and analyzed monthly financial statements of the company and budget preparation and monitoring.
    • Maintained banking transactions of the organization and ensure good relationship with the bank and take advantage of benefits.
    • Put together and manage the DevTrain’s budget, drive growth and manage costs, ensuring transparency, accountability and efficiency in the use of the initiative’s resources
    • Maintain cash Books, prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements, monthly budget reports showing actual, forecasts and variances
    • Took particular responsibility of keeping records, postings into the accounting platform and finalization of Accounts
    • Ensured the proper filing and safe keeping of all supporting documents for review by both external and internal auditors.
    • Ensured the preparation of weekly, monthly and quarterly report of Accounts
    • Submit to PO timely informative reports, summarizing progress made in implementation of activities, lessons learnt, and recommendations for improvement including ad hoc reports and human-interest stories that may be needed towards outputs and objectives of the DevTrain CEDI
    • Submit situational and any other non-routine reports when necessary or when asked to
    • Support the identification of potential new and better-fit approaches that can be developed

    Experiences:

    • She/he must have up to 1-2 years’ experience in Project Cycle Management and managing organizational resources with excellent analytical professional report writing capacity.
    • Proven track record of financial management, capacity building/training for stakeholders including at community level and for local institutions
    • Solid knowledge and understanding NGO or Grants operational environment is required.

    Academic Qualifications:

    • Possession of a B.Sc. or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accountancy or any of the Social Sciences.
    • Committed to DevTrain’s Vision, Mission and Values
    • Knowledge and understanding of working with Community-Based Organizations
    • Proficiency in the use of computer application (Microsoft office, Excel etc.)
    • Good working knowledge of the QuickBooks software.
