    Wash and Nutrition in Emergency Response Officer

    Job Description

    • Develop and use appropriate materials for hygiene promotion messaging and training of community based hygiene promotion volunteers.
    • Timely reporting on program activities (internal and external reports.)
    • Representing FRAD externally in both the Humanitarian Community and with Government/LGAs officials as well as developing strong links with WASH, Nutrition and NGO actors. Actively participate in WASH and Nutrition meetings and other government and NGO led technical working group and committees for flood and cholera
    • Assist in the coordination and supervision of all WASH and Nutrition activities in the IDP camps and communities.
    • Ensure that WASH activities are delivered as a comprehensive package at the field level.
    • Monitor water trunking and chlorination activities.
    • Work in coordination with the program manager and meal department to ensure appropriate and quality response intervention.
    • Supervise all nutrition screening and activities in communities
    • Establish internal referral pathway for easy referral of project participants
    • Compile weekly, monthly, quarterly plans and reports on general Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion activities.
    • Develop, implement, and assess monitoring frameworks for projects, as well as for funding proposals
    • Contribute to the development of annual work plans to identify project targets and ensure inclusion.
    • Supervise household targeting and CVA Assistance.
    • This is not an exhaustive list of the duties and responsibilities of this post, and the post-holder may, from time to time, be required to undertake any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as requested including supporting other sectors with WASH expertise.

    Monitoring, Evaluation Accountability & Learning (MEAL) Manager

    Job Summary
    FRAD is implementing a NHF Funded Multisector Project for GBV and Nutrition in Borno state, the position will support entire FRAD response in effort to strengthen the accountability and monitoring of all programs of FRAD. The MEAL Manager is responsible for leading all MEAL activities in FRAD for various projects:

    • In close collaboration with the Program Manager, design and establish MEAL framework and structure for FRAD
    • Over all implementation of MEAL activities in FRAD at all levels
    • Develop, implement, and assess monitoring frameworks for projects, as well as for funding proposals
    • Develop the overall framework for current project MEAL systems in collaboration with donor and senior project staff, including requirements, reporting, baseline, and evaluation surveys; develop and monitor project management plan to systematically document performance
    • Facilitate design of “SMART” objectives, logic models, monitoring frameworks, and evaluation plans during annual work-planning process
    • Ensure the alignment of MEAL activities with program goals
    • Contribute to the development of annual and project work plans to identify project targets and ensure inclusion of MEAL activities.
    • Maintain existing indicator tracking tools; develop additional databases and tracking tools as needed to demonstrate the effectiveness of project interventions
    • Ensure adherence to specific monitoring and reporting requirements
    • Analyze data for accuracy, flag validation or quality issues, and contribute to system fixes
    • Edit content and presentation of all reporting and deliverables before submitting to ensure superior quality and professionalism
    • Contribute to developing and reporting of project reviews, assessments, surveys, and other analytic or evaluation processes and products
    • Conduct field visits for data validation and to monitor the quality and completeness of data sets; coordinate data collection at project sites to monitor program development and ensure timely compilation and reporting of data; capture and document lessons learned; and champion the scaling up best practices
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    • Degree or equivalent in any relevant field.
    • Degree in International Relief and Development, Social Sciences, Public Health, Statistics/Research Methods, or related fields; may be substituted for length of experience.
    • Thorough familiarity and field experience applying principles and approaches to monitoring and evaluation in humanitarian and emergency contexts using both quantitative and qualitative methods.
    • Experience in Nutrition programming
    • Experience with capacity building of staff, and in convening and facilitating trainings and workshops.

    Starting date: ASAP

    • 2-4 Years’ experience in planning for monitoring and evaluation.
    • Computer skills, especially in Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, power bi, QGIS and Excel
    • IT literate
    • Experience in Electronic Data Collection.
