    Bakery Supervisor - Ado Ekiti

    The Bakery Supervisor is responsible for managing the operations of the bakery to maximize baked goods sales, profitability and customer satisfaction. He or She follows and carries out the baking process, ingredient specifications and recipes in the production of bread and other bakery products at the Store. He or She ensures that company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation, and productivity are maintained and that correct ordering, receiving, unloading, storage, and rotation of merchandise and building of displays takes place.

    Key Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Communicates the raw materials required at the bakery to the Category Manager.
    • Ensures raw materials for bakery are of good quality.
    • Prepares bakery items following the specifications and guidelines.
    • Carries out all pre-bake process and preparation, including making the dough to produce bread and baked goods.
    • Follows and controls adherence to the recipe book.
    • Uses the machinery correctly and professionally, and ensures the right techniques are applied (temperature, baking time, etc.).
    • Maintains accurate production schedules and production sheets.
    • Monitors and controls staff use of relevant resources and tools for production (i.e. oven chart, weigh-up guides, tray up sheet, etc.) .
    • Estimates baked goods consumption to anticipate amounts to be purchased or requisitioned.
    • Coordinates special seasonal displays, demos and promotions.
    • Coordinates launch of new bakery products.
    • Reviews and consults with Store Manager on weekly targets.
    • Communicates the HACCP rules to bakery staff and ensures that JARA’s HACCP plan is followed in the bakery department.
    • Maintains the bakery in a sanitary & orderly condition, following HACCP guidelines.
    • Inspects major bakery equipment regularly for repair or replacement; communicates repair and replacement needs to Store Manager.
    • Report customer suggestions, comments, and complaints to Store Manager.
    • Create a positive and an empowering work environment resulting in team retention.
    • Performs other tasks as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • HND in Food management, culinary arts, Baking, Pastry, food science or any food related course
    • 2-4 years working experience in food production or food retail industry, especially in the bakery department.
    • Competencies:
    • Adequate knowledge of the preparation of baked goods (bread, cakes, pastries, cookies, etc.).
    • Ability to prepare baked goods in large quantities.
    • Knowledge of relevant food safety legislations and HACCP rules.
    • Good understanding of the meaning of food quality and freshness.
    • High standards of cleanliness and the ability to adhere to strict hygiene rules.
    • Excellent attention to detail.
    • Adept at finding best practices for production.
    • Strong interpersonal and commercial skills
    • Deep Understanding of (local) customer tastes, behaviors, and the effect on sales.
    • Energy, drive and a strong can-do attitude.
    • A desire for continuous food improvement and professional development.

    Stock Controller - Ado Ekiti

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Control, direct and coordinate the receipt of goods strictly according to the 4-eye-principle 
    • Ensure that all incoming goods and materials are 
    • controlled on quality and volumes, and ensures goods 
    • under temperature control are taken into the coolers/freezers immediately.
    • Refuse damaged and sub standard goods and register refusals and shortcomings 
    • Ensure that there are no discrepancies between the number of boxes received (and box content) and materials stated in the document from the supplier. 
    • Decide on which goods can be transferred to the sales floor for merchandizing the goods, which goods should be stored at the warehouse, and which goods can’t be released yet.
    • Ensure that Goods Return and Goods Transfer, is done excellently.
    • Ensure a smooth and consistent warehouse operation so that supplies are distributed to the sales floor in an  effective and efficient manner.
    • Ensure effective waste management.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

    • University degree, retail, logistics or wholesales management 
    • 1 - 2 year(s) experience in a control and supervisory position
    • Prior experience in logistics

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Give support to the Service Food Manager in the daily 
    • preparation and presentation of fresh food and drink products to customers as well as the overall operations of the service food kitchen.
    • Carry out operations based on a good knowledge of proper food preparation, kitchen safety techniques and health standards. 
    • Assist in ensuring that the food is well prepared and palatable, the proportions are correct and served 
    • quickly, friendly and courteously.

    Bakery Assistant Ado Ekiti

    Responsibilities

    • Assist the Bakery manager in determining the required raw materials at the bakery and ensure that they are of good quality
    • Perform tasks related to bread and baked goods production
    • Participate in carrying out stock, inventory and product calculations
    • Work with the Bakery Manager to achieve sales targets as well as other sales related tasks
    • Ensure that HACCP, safety, hygiene and maintenance guidelines are followed
