    Chief Executive Officer

    Admin and Media Officer

    Job Summary

    • The ideal candidate will be responsible for building the visibility of the WECAN Forum, managing the platform’s reputation, developing, and driving advocacy and communications coalitions toward its objectives, and promoting its brand among target audiences both in Northern Nigeria and Africa.
    • S/he is responsible for amplifying the thought leadership of the WECAN Forum in ways that help define and advance the continental agenda, continuously promoting actions, policies, programs, and investments that are essential for achieving the WECAN.

    Hub Manager

    Job Summary

    • The key responsibilities of the Hub Manager will be overseeing the successful planning and implementation of the WECAN activities in the Hub; including mobilization of women for Agribusiness development and other project interventions under WECAN in the LGAs..

    Job Responsibilities

    • Lead all key processes of WECAN planning, budget management, project implementation, monitoring, execution and reporting at the Hub level.
    • Identify profitable and market-driven agricultural commodities within the Local government area of operation.
    • Identify new and existing partners / beneficiaries within the LGA to facilitate activities at the agribusiness hub.
    • Coordinate training for the processing and distribution components, experiential learning for the processing, and facilitate agribusiness operations at the hubs.
    • Facilitate appropriate Agrihub system development, operation, and expansion at project sites.
    • Coordinate the deliverables of the three core services (i.e. Agrihub Coordination, training, and Agribusiness support) at the hubs.
    • Support the training coordinator in developing and reviewing training manuals and learning tool kits specific to the LGA.
    • Coordinate beneficiaries’ recruitment, and develop an up-to-date database of all beneficiaries trained at the hub.
    • Assist the training coordinator with the identification and screening of additional training sites for training and agribusiness incubation for hub expansion.
    • Identify training sites and provide recommendations for upgrades.
    • Lead training of trainers (TOT) for identified community-based farmer organizations.
    • Support advocacy, community engagement, and knowledge management
    • Monitor the key implementation process in the hub to ensure the achievement of Hub objectives.

    • Act as the principal spokesperson for the project; disseminate its objectives, activities, and achievements and its roles in Youth employment.

    • Coordinate the training and on the job coaching activities addressing the enhancement of the capacities and service delivery of the related units of MoU and other partners.
    • Assist in the identification, help select and supervise the work of the local contractors involved in project implementation (including local Partners and CBOs, contractors and suppliers);
    • Ensure timely delivery of services by consultants, suppliers, contractors and implementing partners;
    • Maintain effective relationships with and ensure the buy-in of project partners and stakeholders including private sector organizations and identify and develop opportunities for partnership where possible;

    Gender and Culture Officer

    Job Summary

    • The Gender and culture Officer is responsible for Undertaking policy analysis and analytical work on effective ways to address gender inequalities and promote women's empowerment in agriculture, food security, livelihood and rural development.
    • Provides technical support to RBC's Members in the formulation and implementation of gender-responsive agriculture, rural development, food security and livelihood, resilience policies and programmes; and in the implementation of their gender commitments enshrined in regional agreements, global frameworks and international conventions.
    • Ensures that all policies and programmes supporting RBC's gender equality policy are implemented in WECAN's field programme of the region/subregions, promoting synergies and coherence with other agriculture and food development policies.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Ensure Gender and Inclusion Integration in Proposal Development and Project Design and Implementation: With a focus on mainstreaming Gender and Inclusion, the consultant contributes to the design and implementation of new projects undertaken by RBC Nigeria. This involves incorporating strategies that address gender disparities and promote inclusivity throughout the project lifecycle. By actively guiding project teams, the officer ensures that gender and inclusion objectives are met, contributing to the overall success and sustainability of WECAN initiatives.
    • Ensure Gender and Inclusion Integration into Strategic Planning Processes: The officer will actively contribute to the Policy Learning on Agrifood Systems. This involves providing expertise and insights to ensure that gender and inclusion considerations are seamlessly integrated into the core strategies and action plans, promoting a more equitable and responsive agricultural framework.
    • Contribute to Capacity Building and Awareness on Gender and Inclusion: The consultant plays a crucial role in building the capacity of RBC staff and relevant stakeholders on gender and inclusion matters. This includes organizing training sessions, workshops, and awareness campaigns to enhance understanding and foster a culture of Gender promotion, and inclusivity within the organization and the broader agricultural community.
    • Provide recommendations for policy and program interventions mainly for CPF, to address gender disparities in agriculture, including strategies to enhance women's access to land, finance, inputs, training, and markets.
    • Facilitate and represent consultations and workshops on Gender and Inclusion; with key stakeholders, including government officials, civil society organizations, and women groups, to gather inputs and ensure broad participation in the strategic planning process.
    • Lead and Conduct the LGA Gender Assessment of the Agriculture and Rural Sector (LGA-ARS), including situational and stakeholder analysis: The assessment will evaluate comprehensively the gender dimensions within the agriculture and rural sector and will focus primarily on analyzing the country's policy context pertaining to gender inclusivity within agriculture, conducting a gender analysis of the agriculture policy processes to ascertain the extent of gender mainstreaming, and conducting a situational analysis.
    • Additionally, the assessment will entail a stakeholder analysis to identify key actors and their roles in promoting gender equality within the sector. This assessment will provide an overview of the gender equality aspects of RBC, highlighting areas of progress and areas needing improvement in the implementation of the WECAN. Finally, recommendations will be formulated based on the findings to address any identified gaps and necessary adjustments in policies and programs to enhance gender equality and inclusion within the agriculture and rural sector.
