    Project Manager

    Job Summary

    • The Project Manager will work in the programs department that coordinates people and processes to ensure that projects are delivered in time and produce the desired results.
    • As part of your work, you will be responsible for conducting research and producing in-depth content for our audience. 

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop deep expertise by researching, understanding, and applying mental models to analyse transformations, trends and developments that relate to the Nigerian Economy
    • Develop and maintain a strong professional network of sources and contacts across the financial sector to generate insights and story ideas to share with subscribers.
    • Monitor corporate, technological, economic, cultural, and transformational events within the Nigerian economy.
    • Use data, analysis, quantitative and/or documentary material, as well as interviews, to explore all aspects of the varied industries in the Nigerian economy.
    • Produce long-form analytical articles that use a range of data visualisations (e.g. charts, graphs) to explore all aspects of the Nigerian economy on a weekly basis.
    • Prepare proposals, reports, and other materials for submission to grant agencies.
    • Prepare progress reports for the Centre and funding agencies.
    • Summarise project results and monitor the project budget.

    Requirements

    • At least a Master's Degree or PhD in International Development, Economics, Political Science, International Relations, Law, and Health.
    • 5 years experience in NGO work experience (familiarity with media/development/policy projects is an advantage)
    • Strong background in research and data analysis
    • Strong knowledge of proposal writing to funding agencies

    Grant Officer

    Job Description

    • Identify potential and relevant funding opportunities from various sources, including government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other relevant institutions.
    • Research and compile information about grant prospects, including eligibility criteria, application deadlines, and submission guidelines.
    • Ensure grant proposals and applications effectively communicate the organisation's mission, goals, and project details to potential funders.
    • Work closely with the Grants Manager, Project Managers, and Project Officers to gather information, data, and insights necessary for crafting compelling grant narratives.
    • Maintain a grants pipeline to track application deadlines, reporting requirements, and other key milestones.
    • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial information required for grant applications.
    • Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and organised records of all grant-related communications, submissions, and outcomes.
    • Monitor the progress of submitted grant applications and communicate with funders as necessary to provide additional information where necessary.
    • Collaborate with the programme team to ensure alignment between grant-funded projects and overall organisational strategies.
    • Ensure all funding files, (electronic, system, and paper) are complete and kept up to date.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant field such as Development Studies, Statistics, Economics, or Social Sciences.
    • 3 to 5 years in Grant writing and other related NGO work experience (familiarity with media/human rights/governance projects is an advantage)
    • Strong background in Grant Management methodologies and data analysis
    • Strong analytical and data analysis skills, including experience with statistical software packages.
    • Possess professionalism, motivation, flexibility, and cultural sensitivity.

    Development Analyst

    Job Summary

    • As a Development Analyst, you work in the editorial that produces in-depth content for our audience.
    • CJID’s research approach is to focus on identifying, understanding, and explaining trends, transformations and patterns that affect democracy and development in West Africa.

    Key Responsibilities

    Communication Officer

    Job Description

    • The Communications Officer will join the Media and Communications team and lead the execution of strategic communications of projects and programmes activities, impact and knowledge products.
    • The Communications Officer will be responsible for communications on a range of projects, mostly to a diverse external audience, and will ensure consistency of messaging across board. 
    • The post holder will have a strong understanding of stakeholder engagement and an interest in journalism, accountability, media innovation and sustainable development in West Africa.

    Requirements

    • Educated to a Bachelor's Degree level.
    • At least 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience. 
    • Proven experience in a communications role in a large organisation with multiple projects and stakeholder groups.
    • Ability to use a variety of communications channels to disseminate information, including WordPress and Mailchimp. 
    • Skillful at gathering and processing information quickly and making it understandable to a wide range of audiences. 
    • Ability to think strategically about how to communicate multiple project outcomes while maintaining CJID’s core objectives and mission in the messaging.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement strategic communications plans for each project’s implementation, making reference to CJID Communications Strategy 
    • Provide strategic communications support to the project and programme teams to ensure alignment with CJID's goals and mission.
    • Daily promote projects visibility through digital communications channels, by developing relevant and interesting content
    • Manage, where needed, projects’ social media platforms.
    • Maintain records of media coverage and collate analytics and metrics.
    • Undertake other duties to meet the needs of the department and the organisation.
