    Application/Software Developer

    Job Profile

    An Application developer with hands-on experience in planning, developing and management of applications who will also be responsible for supporting through administration and patch development (where necessary) of some existing in-house developed applications. The developer will be responsible for ensuring delivery of projects according to agreed timelines, excellent user experience and 99% application/service availability.

    Job Description

    • Gathering and developing user specifications requirement documents for every project initiative.
    • Developing project implementation plans for each initiative.
    • Application development, deployment and support.
    • Admin and user guides/manual development.
    • User training and solution handover

    Requirements

    • B.Sc. in Computer Science or any other technology disciplines (e.g. Engineering, Physics)
    • 3-4 years practical experience in software application development.
    • Expertise and hands on experience with web applications and programming
    • languages/technologies such as PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, Bootstrap, APIs etc.
    • Good knowledge of Object Oriented Programming (OOP) as it applies to PHP.
    • Strong knowledge of Laravel framework is essential.
    • Knowledge of relational database (Oracle & MySQL).
    • Must be knowledgeable in frontend development (UI & UX), cross-browser compatibility and general web functions and standards.
    • Functional knowledge or hands on design experience with Web Services (REST and SOAP).
    • Knowledge of basic operations of Linux server.
    • Experience in GIT is an added advantage.
    • Must know how to use an FTP client such as filezilla, coreftp e.t.c.
    • Strong grasp of security principles and how they apply to software and the web in general.
    • Good problem solving and logical thinking skills (ability to transform business requirements into programmable solutions).
    • Good Communication skills.
    • Experience in planning and delivering software platforms used across multiple organizational units (multi tenancy)

    Database Administrator

    Job Summary

    The role objective is to plan, maintain and develop databases incorporating the following principles: 

    • That members access data concurrently in a form that suits their needs
    • That there is adequate provision for data security and recovery control (all data is retrievable in an emergency).

    Responsibilities

    • Administrative Activities – Administer all database objects, including tables, clusters, indexes, views, sequences, packages and procedures as required
    • Storage (Including the SANs) – Ensure proactive management of storage allocations for all the databases and promptly request for/implement expansions where necessary.
    • Performance Reporting/Tuning – Continually ensure that databases are performing optimally through regular tuning and monitoring.
    • Backup/Restore – Maintain regular/period backup of all databases and ensure they are up-to-date. Periodically conduct test restore of backups.
    • Replication & Site Switching Activities – Ensure databases at company sites are replicating and at par. Implement site switching activities when required.
    • Planning data-flow to the database, mapping out the 'conceptual design' for a planned database, refining the 'physical design' to meet system storage requirements
    • Maintaining data standards, including adherence to the data privacy regulations wherever applicable
    • Writing database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary
    • Controlling access permissions and privileges for access to database
    • Capacity planning
    • Administration of all issues regarding Database servers
    • Supervise and control all Database servers inventories

    Requirements

    • B.Sc. in Computer Science or any other technology disciplines (e.g. Engineering, Physics)
    • 5-8 years practical experience in Database and Core Business Application Administration.
    • Expertise and hands on experience with Oracle Administration and generally working with data on different relational and non-relational Database Management Systems (DBMS). 
    • Expertise and hands on experience with Windows Server and Linux Operating system administration.
    • Good problem solving and logical thinking skills (ability to transform business requirements into programmable solutions).
    • Excellent Reporting and Communication skills.
    • Experience in planning and delivering technology-based projects

    Relationship Officer

    Job Summary

    The role will be an interface between the company and its Members/ Data Providers. Candidate must therefore have an excellent rapport and develop relationship with Members/ Data Providers. Activities are conducted with the objective of increasing the amount of sales with the present Members and identifying and acquiring new business from potential Members/ Data Providers.

    Responsibilities

    • Build and maintain relationships with bureau subscribers to ensure customer satisfaction
    • Identify and acquire new customers
    • Execute customer relationship plans
    • Ensure optimal customer service experience at every client interaction
    • Make recommendations to the Head, Sales and Marketing on customer needs and marketing strategies.
    • Adhere to Service Level Agreements (SLA) to ensure the delivery of services to Members/ Data Providers
    • Achieve revenue targets across different product/ service offerings by the company.
    • Introduce new service offerings to customers

    Requirements

    • Minimum of a university degree in a numerate or semi-numerate discipline
    • 1-2 years post qualification experience preferably in the financial services sector
    • Must have good knowledge of MS Office.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Good planning and organizing skills with an eye for detail.
    • Excellent negotiation skills
