    French Teacher

    Job Summary

    • The job holder will be responsible for planning and teaching engaging lessons, assessing students’ progress, and fostering a positive learning environment conducive to French language acquisition and culture appreciation.
    • He/she must be passionate about teaching the French language, possess excellent communication skills, and have a strong commitment to student success

    Job Responsibilities

    • Plan, prepare, and teach dynamic lessons that align with the IGCSE French curriculum and cater to the diverse learning needs of students.
    • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students can participate actively and take ownership of their learning.
    • Integrate cultural elements into lessons to promote understanding and appreciation of speaking French language .
    • Provide timely feedback to students and parents/guardians on progress made in learning the French language.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to align the curriculum, share best practices, and participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching effectiveness.
    • Keep subject attendance and updated assessment records at all times.
    • Implement the school’s teaching and learning policy and follow the procedures for assessing, recording, and reporting students’ progress, as well as meeting set targets for further performance improvement in line with the whole school standards.
    • Safeguard and protect the welfare of children and young people
    • Recognize health and safety, this is the responsibility of every employee, to take reasonable care of self and others and to comply with the school's health and safety policy and any school-specific procedures/rules that apply to this role.
    • Attend PTC and all sectional and general staff meetings.
    • Serve on committees or take on any additional duties as may be assigned.

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in French Language.
    • IGSCE Certified or equivalent certification.
    • Registration with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN ) is an added advantage.
    • At least 4 years of experience working in the Secondary section of an International school, of which 2 years should be in a school that uses the British curriculum.
    • Proven Experience teaching French language at the Secondary level and preferably in a school setting.
    • Strong proficiency in the French language (written and spoken) and a deep understanding of French culture, literature, and civilization.
    • Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
    • Passion for teaching and a commitment to fostering understanding and speaking of the French language among learners.
    • Able to resume at Ikoyi by 7:30am.

    Physical Education Coach

    Job Summary

    • The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering high-quality physical education programs that promote physical fitness, healthy lifestyles, and the development of athletic skills. She should have a strong understanding of fitness and sports, and be committed to fostering a positive and inclusive environment where all students can succeed. 

    Job Responsibilities

    • Develop a comprehensive PE curriculum that meets the needs of students of varying ages and abilities, in alignment with School standards.
    • Provide engaging and dynamic lessons that cover a range of physical activities, including team sports, individual fitness, and wellness education.
    • Plan, organize, and conduct practice sessions and training programs that focus on skill development, teamwork, and overall fitness.
    • Serve as a role model and mentor for female athletes, offering guidance on both athletic and personal development.
    • Prepare athletes for competitions, including strategy development, game planning, and mental preparation.
    • Identify and nurture talent, providing individualized coaching to help each athlete reach her full potential.
    • Promote healthy lifestyles, injury prevention, and safe training practices, with a focus on the specific needs of female athletes.
    • Nurture and maintain team spirit, and sportsmanship, encouraging a positive and inclusive team culture.
    • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and the community, keeping them informed of team activities and progress.
    • Collaborate with other coaches and athletic staff to develop and improve sports programs, focusing on the participation and advancement of all athletes
    • Ensure that all coaching activities adhere to school policies, league regulations, and ethical standards.
    • Work closely with sectional heads and colleagues to ensure a cohesive Physical Education experience for students.
    • Implement the school’s learning policy and ensure the procedures for assessing, recording, and reporting students’ progress are maintained.
    • Safeguard and protect the welfare of children and every young person.
    • Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians to keep them informed of student progress and any concerns.
    • Participate in continuous professional development programs to stay current with best practices in education and global perspectives.
    • Ensure all teaching practices comply with school policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
    • Attend PTC and all sectional and general staff meetings.

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, Kinesiology, or a related field.
    • A coaching certification is an added advantage.
    • Registration with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) is an added advantage.
    • At least 3 years of experience working in an International school or multicultural environment.
    • Excellent Communication leadership, and motivational skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
    • Ability to create a safe, supportive, and empowering environment for all students
    • Knowledge of sports rules, regulations, and strategies.
    • First Aid and CPR certification (preferred).
    • Able to resume at school (Ikoyi) by 7:30 am

    Global Perspectives and History Teacher

    Job Summary

    • The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching students both Global perspectives and History; this will involve guiding students through a comprehensive exploration of historical events, global issues, and diverse perspectives. S/he should have global awareness and a commitment to preparing students for an interconnected world

    Job Responsibilities

    • Develop a comprehensive curriculum for both Global Perspectives and History and ensure both are aligned with international standards and the school goals.
    • Provide engaging and interactive lessons that encourage critical thinking, inquiry, and a deep understanding of historical and global issues.
    • Create an inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, learning, and student engagement.
    • Administer assessments to evaluate student progress and understanding, providing constructive feedback to support student growth.
    • Adapt methods and materials to meet the learning needs of our diverse students, including those with varying academic abilities.
    • Work closely with sectional heads and colleagues to ensure a cohesive educational experience for students.
    • Implement the school’s learning policy and ensure the procedures for assessing, recording, and reporting students’ progress are maintained.
    • Safeguard and protect the welfare of children and every young person.
    • Initiate and lead extracurricular activities related to history or global issues, such as debate clubs, history clubs, or global awareness events.
    • Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians to keep them informed of student progress and any concerns.
    • Participate in continuous professional development programs to stay current with best practices in education and global perspectives.
    • Ensure all teaching practices comply with school policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
    • Attend PTC and all sectional and general staff meetings.
