    Production Manger (Furniture Manufaturing)

    Job Summary:

    The Production Manager plans, organises, leads, manages and controls the company’s production team to ensure efficient and productive manufacturing process of the company’s products that meets customer requirements. To take responsibility for the company’s high-end and luxurious furniture product quality standard. To create strategy, drive implementation, monitor compliance and write effective progress reports for suitable decision making.

    You are ultimately responsible for the smooth running of all the company’s furniture production lines and the high quality of output to the standard of the company. To be accountable for the company’s production process from start to finish, manufacturing problems as they arise and troubleshooting design. You are accountable for all machinery and tools’ inventory and maintenance. Developing and implementing manufacturing and productivity improvement plans.

    Job Responsibilities:

    Production

    •  Ability to develop a detailed furniture and fittings project plan, coordinate production process, assist project team, supervise available resources and allocations and be able to deliver on pre-agreed terms, delivery timeframes, budget, quality and scope of work.
    • Manage the furniture production, ensuring that all orders are executed to Clients’ requirement.
    • Oversee the production process that includes cutting wood, board and other components to measurements, edge taping, coupling, plaining of boards, designing, cleaning, and ensuring good finishing of finished products, drawing up production schedule and setting targets for carpenters, floor hands, machinists and quality assistants.
    • Ensure that production is cost effective.
    • Estimate costs and set quality standards.
    • Monitor our products standards and implement quality control programmes.
    • Work with management to implement the company’s policies and goals.
    • Ability to manage production team for efficient and effective performance.
    • You are responsible for inventory, plan and organise maintenance of all the company’s machinery and tools.
    • Responsible for the coordination of all raw materials (Panels, Screws, etc).
    • Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed.
    • Ensure that production schedules are executed within the agreed time.
    • Organise production meetings to communicate daily and weekly objectives, goals and requirements to each of the production team.
    • Ensure production problems are investigated and resolved in record time.
    • Ensure that faulty equipment is repaired quickly and efficiently.
    • Organise machine start-up and shut-down schedules to ensure minimum loss of production time and profits.
    • Plan & monitor our furniture that includes subframes, frames, doors, kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, wall panels and other furniture production at every stage of manufacturing process.
    • Ensure that all furniture produced meet the company’s quality standards.
    • Support project, sales and development team with coordination of new designs, models/samples; understanding of construction plans.
    • Continuous process improvement, internal and external.
    • Troubleshoot design and/or manufacturing problems as they arise.
    • Accountable for optimizing the production process, developing and following-through manufacturing and productivity improvement plans.
    • Accountable for optimizing the company’s logistics process.
    • Build a motivated, competent and results focused carpenters/installers, machinists, sprayers. quality control/design hands.
    • Review teamwork performance and identify training needs.

    Requirements and Qualifications:

    • A Degree in Engineering or Wood Technology
    • Minimum of 5-8 years’ relevant work experience in a high-end furniture manufacturing company.
    • Certification in Production and Inventory Management as well as Quality Control.

    • Deep understanding of modern timber manufacturing techniques
    • Capacity to grasp concepts easily
    • Ability to work in a logical systemic manner.

    The ideal Candidate must possess the following:

    • Established & extensive network within the media/entertainment industry.
    • Strong track record in organisational /operational management Highly experienced strategic executive, proven track record of implementing highly effective strategic business & marketing partnerships.
    • Experience of overseeing brand and branded content creation and working with talent from all caveats of the entertainment industry.
    • Prior demonstrable experience of operational leadership and people management within a growth business.
    • Experience of running innovative marketing campaigns (with success at incorporating digital activity), breaking & developing new talent as well as a proven successful track record of working within a large media/entertainment organisation.
    • Experience of effectively managing budgets to minimise financial spend within projects and maximising profits.
    • Experience of leading the creation of videos and other additional content, including briefing creative agencies.

    Remuneration: #45,000,000
