    Associate Vice President, Capital Mobilisation & Partnerships

    Job Summary

    • The job holder will primarily be responsible for raising additional equity, engaging with countries and partners alike to form strategic partnerships which will in turn serve as a key enabler for AFC’s objective of closing the infrastructure gap on the continent, support balance sheet growth, and diversify the shareholder base across African as well as non-African regions.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Take the lead in implementing the corporation's equity raise strategy, identifying potential funding sources to support the firm's infrastructure projects; setting targets, action planning, and performance tracking, and preparation of guidance documents for membership engagement plans.
    • Conceptualize and implement partnerships and alliance strategies to strengthen the corporation’s commercial reach.
    • Create compelling investment presentations to effectively communicate the investment thesis and value proposition of AFC infrastructure projects to potential equity investors.
    • Review and update (if necessary) the financial model prepared by AFC for equity investor engagements to ensure it reflects all key operational drivers, management approved business plan and capital structure alongside a financial model data book which details all key inputs, assumptions, and outputs for investor review.

    Education

    • A strong first degree in engineering/economics/finance from a recognized university.
    • An MBA or similar postgraduate degree would be highly advantageous.
    • Relevant certifications related to finance and/or project management.

    Experience

    • A minimum of 12 years’ professional experience, preferably in Advisory/Investment Banking and/or Development Finance, with at least 2 years in managerial role.
    • Previous professional experience in Private Equity, Corporate Finance, Capital Raising for Financial Institutions, complemented with relevant experience, and understanding of infrastructure development issues, Project Development and Project Finance
